Here's what students are actually proposing.
Las Vegas Review-Journal ^ | 3/13/2018 | Victor Joecks

Posted on 03/14/2018 9:39:30 AM PDT by VegasVictor

If students playing hooky solved gun violence, mass shootings would have ended decades ago — kids, just ask your parents if they ever cut class. That’s not going to stop today’s students from trying again.

At 10 a.m. today, students from a dozen Las Vegas schools will walk out of their classes for 17 minutes as part of the National School Walkout. ...

One proposal is to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. “It’s all in the title — assault weapons don’t protect, they harm and too easily these deadly weapons can be bought, sold and distributed within the borders of our nation,” says the National School Walkout website. “How can we enjoy ‘freedom,’ if our own country condones the selling of deadly, military-grade weapons which threaten our very existence? The right to bear arms should not be the right to kill.”

It’s hard to know whether to laugh or cry at this level of ignorance. Let’s call assault weapons “love guns.” Problem solved. Remember “it’s all in the title.”

Definition:

Assault weapon- Any item used by an individual to assault another. Rocks, arrows, knives, fists, hammers, ice picks, guns.

It’s not the inanimate object doing the assaulting. It’s the human. No law will ever end or prevent assaults.

I think we should protest drug overdoses...and demand the outlawing of all pharmaceuticals.

There is one answer to this problem and that is armed guards in the schools.
Pretty simple too.

If that is accepted then the gun grab mantra is out the window and libs cant have that..

These skulls fun of mush well know that their sporting events concerts malls and all else are protected by armed guards.
They are being fed a line of BS from their handelers.

It doesn’t take much to get them to walk out. Any excuse will do. The students didn’t dream this up. It was the same people who created “occupy,” “me too,” antifa: committed marxists funded by soros.

One wonders whether any teacher in the entire nation has informed students that Obama diverted taxpayer funds to school districts and local LE agencies - on the condition they would ignore or understate crimes that in essence granted “safe passage” to the latest shooter?

The Soviets had it right back in the 60’s.

They said they could take down America without firing a shot.

Its all very puzzling.

Why do the police carry so called “assault weapons”?

‘And a child shall lead us’

‘We have a right to the freedom of living in country where you are not allowed to have a gun’

‘Military grade weapons’

Morons on parade.

...assault weapons don’t protect, they harm...

So if someone wants to "harm" you, you wouldn't want an AR15 to protect yourself? This is a sophomoronic statement. The trouble with kids is that they don't think anything through. It's all kneejerk.

There is one answer to this problem and that is armed guards in the schools.

Even in the People's Republic of Maryland, the schools I know each have a few teachers or custodians who are real shooters. Some are prior military, others prior law enforcement, and some are hunters who also shoot pistol for fun. In any case, each school has someone who is proficient with firearms and actually cares about the kids in their schools (or productive people definitely would not put up with the nonsense of our education establishment for so little pay).

If we want armed protection in the schools, make the desire to carry to defend our kids in school a sufficient grounds for CCW permit in "may issue" states, and allow guns for faculty and staff with a CCW permit. That gives us armed guards, ones who know the kids and are less likely to cower in a crisis, and the cost is zero.

Most of these kids won’t care about the reason why they walked out, just the fact they get to walk out and not do any work during that time.
