I loved the statement that Liberals don’t want teenagers to be able to purchase guns as they’re apparently not mature enough to use them, but teenagers are smart enough to propose laws to restrict adults from using them.

“This is what happens when children are put in charge.”...

The kids protesting think they are indeed, in charge. There are times and places for their protests but during school hours it is not one of those time or places. Any student that walked out of school should get an “F” for the day. Try skipping school for some other bogus reason and that is what would have happened when ADULTS were in charge.

What would be his reaction to students walking out to protest against the state for not providing quality security at schools?

To a large extent, this was brought about by a pretty big fool:

But, you say, we destroy the most hallowed of relations, when we replace home education by social.

And your education! Is not that also social, and determined by the social conditions under which you educate, by the intervention direct or indirect, of society, by means of schools, etc? The Communists have not invented the intervention of society in education; they do but seek to alter the character of that intervention, and to rescue education from the influence of the ruling class.

The bourgeois clap-trap about the family and education, about the hallowed co-relation of parents and child, becomes all the more disgusting, the more, by the action of Modern Industry, all the family ties among the proletarians are torn asunder, and their children transformed into simple articles of commerce and instruments of labour.

This is simple, rules do not apply to progressive/communists.

They can pretty much do what they want with impunity.

Every one who left class was truant and should be disciplined accordingly.

Either there are rules or there are not.

“Gov. Andrew Cuomo asked state education officials Thursday to overturn any disciplinary action taken against students who participated in the mass walkout against gun violence.”

The whole point of peaceful protest is that the protester is risking something - their freedom, their time, etc. - in order to make a point that others will pay attention to. If these kids violated published school policies while being out protesting, then they have to learn the adult lesson that “actions have consequences.” I have never seen or heard of a school policy that allows an excused absence for protesting, no matter how worthy the cause may be - so let them be punished.

Absolutely. Discipline the schools instead.
