AN OKLAHOMA mother who married her daughter after the two hit it off was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison after pleading guilty to incest.
Patricia Ann Spann, 45, of Norman, Okla., pleaded guilty to the felony offence and admitted she married her biological daughter, 26-year-old Misty Velvet Dawn Spann. She must also register as a sex offender after her release from prison, the Oklahoman reported.
Spann accepted a plea deal and was also sentenced to eight years on probation and fined $US1,500 ($1,904).
The Duncan Police Department was informed of the incestuous marriage by an employee with the states Department of Human Services. The employee found out about the marriage during a child welfare investigation, police said.
Spann said she thought the marriage to her daughter was legal because she had lost custody of her and two sons years ago, and she is not listed on their birth certificates.
Prosecutors said Spann also married one of her sons in 2008 but the marriage was annulled in 2010 due to incest, the Associated Press reported.

prison ... because drowning them in a bog is wrong because ... I can’t really come up with anything.
I don’t get it...if two men or two women can legally marry what sense is there excluding mother and daughter? What explanation is there for that?

Yep - the central theme behind the argument for homosexual “marriage” is “Any two people who love each other should be allowed to marry”.
It's like stocking your own pond to fish in ...
A logical legal question even though those two would make a strong completion for first place in an ugly competition.
When incest is legal I’m going to marry all my kids. Think of the tax advantages!
A step beyond white trash.
I second that.
Clearly, this activity is wrong and all normal people are horrified at the thought. But, from a legal standpoint, what possible grounds exist today to indicate that such a marriage is improper? What is the definition of marriage now? I assume it’s pretty much “anything goes” if two men can get married. Why not a mother and daughter?
They opened the door to this, and any decision that “this isn’t OK” now just comes across as completely arbitrary.
That's the price you pay for being ahead of your time in progressive America.
