As most of us know all this gun control has only one goal in mind that is disarming the American people.

Facts to not matter to the anti’s.

Obama had the records of over 500,000 criminals removed from the system.
What good are background checks if you get rid of the bad guys and only run backgrounds on the law abiding people?

UBC’s are the 1st step before registration. We have UBCs and registration here in CA.

Gun registration has been in effect at least since 1977. I bought a gun while Carter’s inaugaration was on TV. They took down all the info off my driver’s license. Less than 6 months later I sold it to a deputy sheriff. About 2 years later an ATF agent contacted me wanting to know who I had sold it to. It had been used in a crime.

Absolutely. You cannot prove you’ve undergone a background check unless there is registration.

BTW, if there is no registration, why the hell do they need a serial # to conduct a background check on the buyer?

A record is maintained by the licensed seller. The name of the purchaser must be erased from the data base after IIRC three days but the serial number is retained and liked to the licensee. If ATF finds a firearm at a crime scene, it can ask the licensee the name of the original purchaser.

Big stink several years ago about the ATF maintaining names linked to serial numbers illegally.

That’s why I purchase a firearm and then check the obits for the next three weeks. You can figure the rest out.
