PETER HITCHENS: The 'patriotic' thought police came for Corbyn. You are next
DailyMail.com ^ | 3/17/2018 | Peter Hitchens

Posted on 03/18/2018 5:38:31 AM PDT by Nextrush

Is THIS a warning? In the past few days I have begun to sense a dangerous and dark new intolerance in the air, which I have never experiences before. An unbidden instinct tells me to be careful what I say or write, in case it ends badly for me. How badly? That is the trouble. I am genuinely unsure.

I have been to too many countries where free speech is dangerous. But I have always assumed that there was no real risk here.

Now, several nasty trends have come together. The treatment of Jeremy Corbyn, both by politicians and many in the media, for doing what he is paid for and leading the Opposition, seems to me to be downright shocking.

I disagree with Mr. Corbyn about many things....

But he has a better record on foreign policy than almost anyone in Parliament......

....our repeated rushes into foolish conflict in Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan. All have done us lasting damage.

Yet we pay for it, literally, every day. Along with our clinically insane covert intervention on the side of Al Qaeda in Syria, the Libyan adventure created the unending migration crisis across Europe which, in my view, threatens the stability of the whole continent....

I sense an even deeper and thoughtless frenzy over Russia, a country many seem to enjoy loathing because they know so little about it.

I have already been accused, on a public stage, of justifying Moscow's crime in Salisbury......

....the crude accusation, with its implication of treachery, frightened me. I expect, as time goes by, I will be accused of being an 'appeaser' and of being against 'British values'. And then what? An apparatus of thought policing is already in place in this country.

By foolishly accepting bans on Muslim 'extremists', we have licensed public.....

Its easy to dis Jeremy Corbyn because he is to the Left, but of course the coppers broke up Tommy Robinson when he tried to exercise his right to speak out against Islam in Hyde Park last weekend.

Others have been prohibited from entering the UK in recent days like activist Lauren Southern.

Robinson and others are set to try to exercise their right to speak at Speakers Corner today.

Hitchens sense of the atmosphere in his country is dead on.

Freedom he explains is in danger for Lefties like Corbyn and Conservative and Christian viewpoints in the UK at this moment in time.

Plenty of good reading beyond the excerpts.

Only a few pay attention when it starts. The majority can’t be bothered to think about it. Then the authorities ramp it up, and it becomes real persecution, and it’s too late to do anything about it.

The UK is actively persecuting anyone who objects to the muzzification of the UK and the rapes and murders that that includes.

No constitution, no rights. How long would we have had personal weapons in this country without the constitution?

They have a constitution although it is a series of documents written over a long period of time, starting with Magna Carta.

I’m no fan of Corbyn and believe the Russians are behind this new poisoning but Great Britain’s anti-free speech codes are criminal to a formerly great country.

I’m also not a big fan of Peter Hitchens.

The UK gun laws came out of World War I. In its aftermath there was fear of Communist revolution.

Peter Hitchens has written and spoken about gun laws in the UK and how they resembled our Second Amendment before 1920.

It is getting to be “Pastor Niemoller Time” over in the UK with “first they came for” and so on. Its a bit smiley faced with people being forced into silence or changing what they say to conform, but what’s next?

Islam cannot be criticized, that’s for sure.

Why?

Saudi money flooding the UK no doubt.

Also, the Saudis and Russians are on opposite sides in Syria with the UK taking the Saudi side.

Interesting in light of this story about Corbyn being forced to conform to the anti-Russian government line.

The long bow laws are long gone as well.

"the unending migration crisis across Europe"
Even Peter Hitchens fails to connect the dots...
There is no unending migration crisis, but simply a deliberate migration policy
Col Gadaffi said as much (that this would follow) as the plot to remove him unfolded.

But perhaps I missed something; has Jeremy Corbyn been arrested then? In other news, I hear that Paul Golding of Britain First has been attacked within days of being sent to prison.

Hitchens notes in his writing that he is worried about what he writes and what the consequences will be.

Perhaps that applies to what you are talking about with the jailing of people under ‘hate crimes’ laws.

The Brits are Arabists. That’s one of the reasons this has happened to them. All the way to before Kim Philby (Mr. Arabist) they have had a romance with sun and sand.

I’m kind of surprised that he didn’t pick up on this sooner.

It’s been going on long enough, but hey, at least he’s aware.

Or as said in a popular email now making the rounds - “are actually shocked that there IS a difference of opinion.”

“”TV and the internet have for years been promoting a leaden conformism, whose victims are actually shocked – and often angry – when anyone disagrees.””

What happened in Libya was exactly what they intended. It’s called cloward-piven they just did it to an entire continent instead of the test run on New York City in the early 80s, basically it’s create a massive problem so it breaks government and its current format and then claim all these new programs and a new form of bureaucracy is the answer for the problem they’ve created in order to effect change without having to go to the voters or taxpayers

In New York City it was the first one to say and passed the rule that nobody can be turned away from the hospital and it bankrupted every single Hospital in New York City. And if you really understand what cloward Piven is the whole crack epidemic of the 1980s along with the stories of the clintons and cocaine in Arkansas it starts to Look Alot Like A government operation to create a problem and then have a big government solution kind of sick

New world order ....EU.. time to repeal the 17th Amendment and 16th Amendment

The pics running of Corbyn with a photoshopped Soviet red & black background, and him wearing a Russian hat..The UK is in thought crime/police state mode.

The detention of Lauren Southern, and the refusal to let Brittany Pettibone in under terrorism statutes is 1984.

Britain has fallen.
