In Fahrenheit 450 the books had to be burned to erase the past. Now truth is either altered or deleted by technology. Back then, people could hide In the woods. With GPS and spy cameras and technology that's close to impossible. We're on the edge of "future crimes" as in Minority Report, where rights will be taken away for the potential of committing a crime in the future (mental health restrictions for gun ownership?).

We're way past "book burning" in our Brave New World.

Exactly.. And even if they don’t take everyone’s guns.. The technology they have at their fingertips is beyond our imagination .. Beyond our ability to defend ourselves against.
After our generation of baby boomers is gone there will be no one left with the will to fight back.
