Trumpís State Dept., CIA picks will be confirmed despite Rand Paulís objections, Lindsey Graham says

Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said he thinks President Trump’s picks to lead the State Department and CIA will make it through the Senate, despite Sen. Rand Paul’s pledge to try and block the nominees.

Mr. Graham said CIA Director Mike Pompeo will make a suitable replacement for Rex Tillerson as secretary of state, since he shares Mr. Trump’s world view — including a tough line against North Korea.

“He will get confirmed,” Mr. Graham told CNN’s State of the Union.

Mr. Paul, a libertarian-minded Republican from Kentucky, said he fears. Mr. Pompeo is a throwback to Republicans who advocated for “regime change” instead of diplomacy.

The Libertarian ideology includes the U.S. not getting involved with foreign nations’ dealings.

At this time in the world we live in, that is the turtle closing his shell to the world. It is unacceptable.

Iran, a nation that has an internal pot boiling of humans wishing to throw off the yoke of extremist mohammedanism, with that government acquiring weapons of mass destruction while evoking the complete destruction of another nation-state, is an international danger.

North Korea is another nation that is an international danger.

Communist mainland China expanding into south Asia and having acquired military land bases on the continent of Africa is one to watch.

Those alone are reasons to disavow the Libertarian ideology.

Both Mr. Pompeo and Ms. Haspel can be described as “tough cookies”.

A longstanding tradition dating back to oh, let's see, wasn't it one of the founding fathers who sent a mission against the Barbara pirates who refused to recognize our right to lack of foreign entaglements.
