Mike Pompeo might be the only guy Trump trusts
New York Post ^ | March 18, 2018 | Michael Walsh

Posted on 03/18/2018 9:25:34 AM PDT by billorites

he busiest guy in Washington, DC, right now is Mike Pompeo. Shuttling from the halls of Congress to CIA headquarters in Langley and, soon enough, back across the Potomac to Foggy Bottom, the former congressman from Kansas and current secretary of state-designate is rapidly becoming the Henry Kissinger of the Trump administration — the man for all jobs, in all seasons.

Pompeo’s long-bruited selection to replace Rex Tillerson is an inspired choice. He’s a rising star with an impeccable résumé (graduated first in his class at West Point, degree from Harvard Law, military vet), a no-nonsense manner and a capacity to get things done. Even better, he’s fully in synch with President Trump’s foreign-policy goals and outlook, which sees China, not Russia, as America’s principal global competitor, views the Iran nuclear deal as subject to immediate renegotiation or cancellation and is ready to go nose-to-nose with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.

At State, Pompeo, who in just 14 months has helped refocus the CIA from its partisan activism under former chief John Brennan and back toward dispassionate information gathering, will pick up where Tillerson left off, continuing to streamline and downsize the bloated diplomatic ranks and bring the notoriously independent department, heavily populated with anti-Trump personnel, back under some semblance of White House control. Historically, State has always been far to the left of any given administration, even liberal ones — it sees its job as representing the world to America, instead of vice versa — and it’s long past time it was reined in.

I know this is about Pompeo, but I honesty wonder if Pence might be inching toward the chopping block.

We need the REAL DEAL for 2024 to pick up where Trump leaves off.

If the New York Post thinks this is an inspired choice, then Mike Pompeo must be bad news for the nation-at-large.

I’ll admit that the Trump twitter thing made me very uncomfortable at first. But I’ve grown to understand that there’s really no alternative if he wants to get his message out to the people.

This is the political world the left has created and so we’ve had to adjust our values in order to fight back. It’s either that or just give up. Thankfully, President Trump is willing to fight back. Even if that means using twitter in order to do so.

>>We need the REAL DEAL for 2024 to pick up where Trump leaves off.

A good CEO trains his replacement and part of that training is “don’t try to be me while I’m still here”. I’m hoping that he is training Pence on the finer points of hiring, evaluating, and firing if necessary. The business (or agenda in this case) must advance constantly and management is expendable if they can’t produce.

The Deep State is like taking over a business and having an entrenched group of high-value employees keep telling you “that’s not how we do it here.”

Trump knows the answer to that statement!

Every morning Pompeo goes from his office at Langley over to the White House and briefs the president. They have gotten to know each other.

Pence is a career politician and way too heavily connected to the GOPe and donor class to be a safe bet to continue MAGA.

Pence could never be elected President in today’s America.

This is not "the New York Post" writing, it is one particular (guest) op-ed writer:

"Michael Walsh is a contributing editor at PJ Media and American Greatness. His book,“Fiery Angel,” is out in May."

There is a big difference between an official editorial (of any publication) and one individual's op-ed which may or may not have anything to do with the views of the editorial board, etc.

I agree. I don’t trust him to be the leader at all. He will sell out to the Global Uniparty in no time flat.

Plus, I think he’s weak. No fight in the man. The way he let the Hamilton thugs abuse him and his family was shameful. Disgraceful actually.

The last thing we need would be another W Bush who lets the left run wild all over him without putting up so much as a note of protest.

True. Pence is a really nice, polite well mannered guy.

But he is far too meek to ever win.

WE have to know what we need in 2024 to restore our free constitutional republic. I don’t think Pence is that guy.
