Kushner’s company claimed there were no rent control tenants and the city approved it’s request. So wouldn’t a person of normal intelligence assume that the city had records of the tenants in rent-controlled units? And if rent control tenants were found in those records at the Kushner projects, permission would have been denied? I’m taking the side of the apartment developers and owners here. Most local housing laws are seriously slanted in favor of tenants and apartment owners have huge financial investments in their properties. I’ve seen buildings full of people that don’t pay their rent, don’t bath, don’t speak English, don’t exercise any behavioral self control and have brigades of SJW lawyers keeping their eviction cases tied up for eons. Sometimes I marvel that owners don’t set their own buildings or fire or rig gas explosions.
