Surprising especially considering all Supremes were in agreement. The Republicans in the districts are going to have to work harder then ever to convince voters they are worthy of keeping their jobs now.

I’ve heard the GOP could lose four seats in PA based on this new map.

Which comes back, to being able to work harder to win in the new more competitive districts.

Question to folks from Pennsylvania. Does this mean that the 18th District, stays as is? And Lamb will have to run again in November?

You know, that election that didn’t matter because the district was going to be redrawn anyway and they would get a Republican in there in November. The place that a Dem, who conned everyone into thinking he was actually a Conservative, who will eventually show his true colors and be in lock step with Pelosi, will stay as it is?

There are still 18 seats. Republicans don’t have to lose a single one. They just have to convince voters everywhere in the state that they are worthy to lead the nation or at lest their district. I think quite a few got to comfortable knowing that they have the seat for as long as they wanted it. Oops. Competition is a good thing. We always talk about term limits...this isn’t quite it but at least nobody can take their seat for granted now. We will have to see how much they want the seat. I still think they can do well in November. I saw the new map and it isn’t that much difference. The big difference are the snakes and weird shapes. They are more square now.

I’m not from PA but heard that Lamb gets put out to pasture in either scenario.

Nope. No more 18th district.....it is now in two other districts. So BOTH Lamb and Saccone are running in new districts but not against each other.

You know, Every time the Supremes' names come up on the ballot for retention I try to remember if I heard anything bad about any of them. I usually do some superficial searches and then vote to retain. The political parties of these judges are not openly stated.

Now I find out that the majority of the judges are dems.

All I can say is: Fool Me Once...

So the black robes get to draw congressional districts and not our elected representatives? I’m getting sick to my stomach. We are being ruled by unelected demigods

Yep. Hopefully they will take a look at Maryland too. There is a lawsuit that is in front of Maryland by the Republicans and it needs to be looked at seriously. These states think they care make these ridiculous shapes and weird lines where a neighbor is in another district are in for a big time wake up call.

Yep. I think they saw that weird looking district and say “what the heck?” and said the new map stays.

The districts were a mess. That said, the Dems created the mess. Republican control of the state house is a fairly new thing as the Dems have become the party of the big urban areas and not much else. Trump voters in many parts of PA have nothing in common with the Schumer/Pelosi party.

Lamb ran as a republican against a very weak candidate.....and still barely won. And he was going away regardless.

Sounds like a situation where a Constitutionally-minded court sees fit to stay out of what’s a legislative matter, leaving standing a Constitutionally-violating court’s decision to butt into the legislative matter.

That is not surprising. Everyone but Trump has been a disaster with regards to judges. Even Reagan’s judges have given Trump a headache......not many left but the ones that are still around are not great.

Dont say anything bad about PA until you have lived in modern day California. Illegal Mexicans run the show here.

There it is again: don’t have standing. Why is it everytime I agree with an issue, the side I favor does not have standing yet every time I find no nexus between law and the opposing side, there is always “standing.”

I don’t think the Supreme Court has to answer to anything. They are the final decision makers. The Republicans will be fine. Just go door to door and talk to their new constituents. I don’t see that as a problem at all. Most have gotten so lazy and don’t even care about the voters. This is a wake up call for them. No more free rides.

The only MD district that I looked at was the one Chrissy Matthews' wife was running for, financed by HRC/Friends thereof, if Matthews avoided pointing out or even mentioning any HRC faux pas, corruption investigations, and various criminal acts.

It ran from DC up to the PA border, snaking around this city and that, and sprouted, ever so slightly, to the border.
