The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is reportedly launching an investigation into Facebook over whether it violated terms of consent in the wake of reports a data firm harvested information from millions of profiles.
Bloomberg News reported Tuesday that the investigation relates to whether Facebook allowed Cambridge Analytica, the data firm used by the Trump campaign, to obtain some Facebook users’ personal data in violation of its policies.

Both the Obama campaign (2012) and the most recent Hillary campaign harvested Facebook data for the exact same purpose.

It’s worse than that. According to Morning Joke the guy doing the mining was a RUSSIAN professor. So.......it’s the Russians.

Did anyone else get a notification from FB regarding terms of service for 2018 and actually read it all the way through? You got opted into approving their use of the camera on your monitor if you didn’t read it and go decline to allow it.
That’s why I put tape over the camera on my laptops.

And Barack Obama in his campaign of 2008 and 2012 was touted as the digital Genius of the new age when the story appeared that he had utilized this kind of data in exactly the same way. The dustup over this is just completely astounding to me, it’s well-known that Facebook offers up its data to anyone who will pay for it for any purpose they want.
So, it’s only criminal and in the news if a Republican does it? Got it.
Facebook is having an emergency employee meeting today and dem senators are calling for immediate hearings on this.
Trump won a year and a half ago. They need to get over it.
