you think UIP is bad?...try IUPUI
100 years ago went up to IUP from WVU to play them in rugby!
Nice looking school as I remember t.
“He missed a month of classed, but he probably didn’t miss much”
10 years back my son missed two weeks of a Sociology class and came back on test day unprepared. He answered all the questions based on if they elevated women and minorities and demonized white men.
He scored a “B” on the exam.
It doesn't require a sr fac member with "significant" experience. It requires a school chancellor/president with backbone to tell the snowflake feminist professor that she better pull her big girl pants on and stop bullying those who hold a contrary opinion - or else find some other line of work.
As long as they agree with her twisted theology . . . .
Sounds like her background is at least nominally Catholic — so I’m not sure if this whole incident speaks to her departure from Catholic teachings, or if it speaks to the rot in Duquesne University’s theology department for turning out such a malformed product.
Probably both.
PFfft!
Right. She’s every bit as “nominally Catholic” as Michael Newdow. IOW, ZERO credit given for the tattered window dressing.
My guess is she’s looking down the barrel of an eternally dismaying “Depart from Me, you worker of iniquity; I never knew you.”
Not that her academic credentials aren’t impressive; just that they’re also impressively irrelevant to the real world. I mean — c’mon “Christian Feminism”? Any Elementary-aged Sunday School student can tell you THAT line of bull drops dead before you escape the single-digit chapters of Genesis.
I’m not suggesting “nominally Catholic” is any good. In fact, it’s worse than if she is an agnostic who learned about religion as though it were just another anthropological field of study.
I agree with you that she is shaping up for disappointment — but I suspect that she isn’t trying for Eternal rewards (if she believes in them). She’s too busy trying to store them up here, along with all the other virtue-signaling social justice warriors.
The fact that she had to go to IUP (a state school) to teach about religion says volumes too.
Had a Computer Science Professor like that - he told us Ralph Nader was his ‘hero” and he actively campaigned for the guy...when it came to curriculum he was professional and fair no matter what some of the side discussions revealed about he students.
