A London court on Wednesday ordered Christopher Steele, author of the anti-Trump dossier, to submit to questions from American attorneys suing him for libel on behalf of a Russian entrepreneur.
A senior master in the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench, rejected Mr. Steele’s argument that British law prohibited an ex-spy such as himself from testifying.
“On Mr. Steele’s behalf it was said that the examination would be prohibited by English law which is untrue,” said the 39-page order obtained by the Washington Times.
The senior master said he had “come to the conclusion that Mr. Steele does have relevant evidence to give for trial in the U.S. proceeding.”

Why do Brits engage in libel so much? They always get caught and they always end up paying out...a lot.
The more important question is: what exactly was the extent of the UK government’s knowledge of and assistance provided to the conspiracy to overthrow the government of the United States, in which Steele is a central figure?
Was Steele still working for the UK government when he was engaged in this conspiracy?
We need to know the real answer to this question before we take any further cooperative steps with the UK in any field whatsoever.
I have asked that question here myself. I believe they were indeed involved in this. I don’t believe Steele is a retired agent. He may very well be an active agent.
Given that there really isn’t any such thing as an ex-spy, my money is on the UK government having had a key role in this affair and that any conversation we have with them in the future ought to be about what they can do to convince us not to nuke London in retaliation.
According to the Q drops, one of the central games is for US spy agencies to contract with foreign governments to spy on US citizens. The US agencies can’t do it because it’s illegal. Of course, helping foreigners commit espionage in the US is treason, but that seems to have dismissed as a minor concern.
Pretty clear the UK has actively spied on us to stop Trump and when that failed, they spied to bring him down.
This is the sort of thing that leads to military tribunals and possible firing squads.
Considering this happened when Trump was a private citizen, I hope Steele gets taken for every cent he has.
You don’t need to rely on Q for that info. The intelligence-laundering practices to evade domestic laws has been going on at least since early on in the second Bush admin.
A libel/slander case is generally harder than heck to prove in the UK. And thanks to their gagging laws, anything that might rate one rarely gets said/written. Over there anyway.

True. But it’s not usually taken so far that it becomes in effect a political coup. That’s new and different.
I think it is the opposite. It’s fairly easy there, impossible here.
That’s why I say a serious discussion of the merits of the US military dropping a nuke on London - centered on GCHQ to make the message unambiguous - should now begin.
The UK is not a US ally anymore, and it is time to treat them like the enemy they chose to become.

I think it is fairly apparent that one way or another, Steele is living on borrowed time.
IMHO his best bet is to disappear, and pronto.
Maybe he could open up a motorbike rental shop in Goa, India under an assumed identity, and otherwise keep a low profile...
I bet the answers are all YES. Which is why I think the US, in regards to Russia and the UK, should tell the UK to pound sand.
