As a shop owner I would no longer pay taxes...
There are people who live near Atlanta who consider the government of Fulton County(Atlanta) to be a giant sink hole that drains away the taxpayers money. Therefore the community of Sandy Springs got worried: what if they were annexed into Atlanta and all of their tax dollars went to other parts of the city. Thusly, Sandy Springs formed itself into its own city such as to stay away from the drain that is Atlanta.
Then they just lock your doors with a key you don’t have.
When business owners and taxpayers start to believe that they are getting neither return nor protection from the police getting very generous retirements and pensions, things will change. Government unions are a nemesis.
Citizens need the right to have direct control via referendum over the unelected bureaucrats who screw them. As others have said she never should have broadcast such policy, just as schools should not advertise themselves as no defense zones.
