The citizens of these states don’t care about their children, or they’d be voting differently. I can’t care about their children for them.
The simple truth is more and more voting Americans have no children. The news story recently about the number of childless European leaders really summed it up in a nutshell; the short-sighted policies they were supporting regarding the Islamic invasion of their countries would be most seriously felt when the leaders’ genes had left the gene pool.
