ProtectOurFreedom - I went into FB just to see what they have me as and found I am ‘very conservative.’ While that’s accurate, I cannot figure out how they came to that because I post so infrequently on FB and have only 8 (eight) Friends on FB. LOL
I guess my point is we have been playin the opposition forever

Don’t forget Facebook is accused of LISTENING to people’s conversations as well.
You can opt to remove that category
But you can delete it. I did so yesterday and today.
Kind of surprised. I never do political anything on Facebook. Tagged me as very conservative. I guess they have a spot at the concentration camp ready for me.
Any time you get an ad ... for shoes, food, political parties ... there are 3 dots to the right side of the ad.
Click the three dots. You have the option of telling Facebook you like the ad, hate the ad, you never want to see ads like that again and/or want to immediately delete the ad.
I delete all ads that come by me on FB. I tell FB to remove them and do not want to see ads like that again. Its easy and satisfying to nuke ads every time you see them. Wish I could do this on TV, radio and print.
I’ve done a good job. They call me moderate. Heh.
I’m not on FB or any ‘social media’ at all but I am certainly Orwellian paranoia enough to believe the they probably have a pigeonhole of me.
Bkmk
LOL! Such eclectic tastes you have!
I worked HARD to achieve that. #1 - I have no desire to waste time and get aggravated on FB - life is too short; #2 - If I made even ONE political post, I would risk offending someone who shares an interest in the art that I devote most of my free hobby time.
I have never made any internet political posts using my real name either - started with “nomes de guerre” in 1996 when I first went “on-line” and have never stopped the practice.
To me the most wonderful thing about the Internet (which, like so many other, has now been largely ruined) was - its anonymity ....
Mine says moderate. lol Maybe cuz I have a bunch of liberal “friends”? Funny cuz it does show me as interested in the NRA.
Good point! That would fill in a lot,of data holes.
Biput, if they were actually listening in on me, I would be tagged far right of just plain “conservative.”
They are probably picking up your FR browsing history/cookie. Try shopping for something on Amazon, home depot, etc. Open FB... what you were looking at will show up as ad on FB.
I have a chrome app that hides FB ads.
Mine says “To the right of Ronald Reagan & Joseph de Maistre”...just kidding, just says “Very Conservative”...I think I can do better!! ;-)

Nice thing about deleting them is that they cannot draw any conclusions about you. FB said they decide whether you are liberal or conservative based on your actions like what you like and dislike. I have them remove all liberal ads and I have them remove all conservative ads. I do not want them learning about me from what I allow.
I can’t figure out where ‘Settings’ is - could someone help me with that?
I finally found the Ads setting and clicked everything I could to Off. I never found the info about whether they thought I was liberal or conservative. Too complicated. Zuckerbug should be in jail.
