My wife, who is very conservative, is pegged as "Very Liberal" which is hilarious. She thinks it might be because she is friends with a lot of very liberal Californians where we live and her co-workers are very liberal, too.

My leaning is not difficult for anyone of limited skills to discern. Republican Central Committee membership might reveal itself from time to time. Then there is my attendance at the nominating convention as a Trump-pledged alternate delegate. I also from time to time post or comment on cat videos.

I checked. They don’t even have a “politics” entry for me. You know why?
Because I’m on Facebook SOLELY because of an art interest that I discuss and participate in. Not politics.
For a year and a half I hit the “don’t show me posts like this” next to every single political post popping up from my FB friends. After awhile, they stopped showing them.
I have also NEVER posted anything political in 3 years (before then I wasn’t on FB).
So I’m a cipher to old Zuck. And - I LIKE it that way!!!
I’m tagged as a Liberal, haven’t really done much to hide my affiliation on facebook or the web in general other than I don’t open my mouth to blurt things out without thinking as much as the average lib.

That’s probably why they had you marked as very conservative. The liberals feel free to spew their politics. Some conservatives share politics, but many self-censor.

If you/others think its only facebook that knows this stuff, you’d be quite surprised. Just about every major retailer knows. PS sounds like your wife is more liberal than she lets you know.

I have a facebook account under a psuedonym with only my direct family as friends. But I do follow other pages on FB (organizations, sports, etc.) Seeing as my “face” image is a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag, I’m guessing I’m conservative.
They have me as conservative also-——I like wolf stuff and dog stuff———and “like” just about everything the grandkids post————when they do,FB is pretty much over for them.
