"Gun violence?" How many unarmed citizens were murdered by government in modern times?

Edited on 04/05/2018 4:01:32 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

The number of unarmed citizens (262,000,000*) slaughtered by tyrannical (mostly leftist, Marxist, fascist) governments during the 20th century would come pretty close to wiping out the entire U.S. population.

Our founders understood the danger of runaway government power and tyranny, thus the constitution guaranteeing our God-given liberty and severely restricting the powers of government. And they included the 2nd amendment for good reason. An armed citizenry guarantees it stays that way.

No, the 2nd amendment is not obsolete and never will be. The God-hating, America-hating, constitution-hating leftists will NOT be repealing the 2nd amendment nor will they be taking our guns.

Why? They don't teach it in government schools anymore so the snowflakes pushing for repeal or confiscation are ignorant, but we know. History repeats.

I did the math and it would take about 35,900 years of daily school shootings, 20 dead each time, for mass shootings to catch up to government killings.

You know that argument doesn't work on these assclowns Jim. But we should keep on hammering it to them anyway. If we can save one liberal, isn't it worth it? 😹🍿🍻🇺🇸

Let’s keep that front and center and not stop hammering away at the Left with these facts and DON’T LET UP, until these delusional leftists are back hiding in their caves.

No offense but isn’t some pissy little village in Illinois planning to have their police go door-to-door seizing people’s arms? Who’s going to stop them or stand up to them?

The Second Amendment doesn’t seem to have much in the way of teeth if no one’s willing to back it up by exercising it.

The single greatest thing any person can do is to never ever vote for a dem. When enough dems are elected to a majority, our rights get infringed.

20TH CENTURY
DEMOCIDE

IMPORTANT NOTE: Among all the democide estimates appearing on this website, and in the table on the lower right, some have been revised upward. I have changed that for Mao's famine, 1958-1962, from zero to 38,000,000. And thus I have had to change the overall democide for the PRC (1928-1987) from 38,702,000 to 76,702,000. Details here.

I have changed my estimate for colonial democide from 870,000 to an additional 50,000,000. Details here.

Thus, the new world total: old total 1900-1999 = 174,000,000. New World total = 174,000,000 + 38,000,000 (new for China) + 50,000,000 (new for Colonies) = 262,000,000.

Just to give perspective on this incredible murder by government, if all these bodies were laid head to toe, with the average height being 5', then they would circle the earth ten times. Also, this democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in all the foreign and internal wars of the century. Finally, given popular estimates of the dead in a major nuclear war, this total democide is as though such a war did occur, but with its dead spread over a century.

20th Century Democide

I doubt they’ll be successful in their unconstitutional gun grab attempt.

I wonder who want’s to disarm us and for what purpose?

I’m struggling to believe the grand plan is limited to our Congressmen and Senators.

It’s global.

Where is the war room and who are the generals commanding our politicians?

Step 1 and 2, disarm American citizens and keep the southern border unfortified.

I spent the week in D.C.

Everyone should go there, stand in front of our embossed granite institutions and contemplate how a handful of despicable traitors inside them are able to openly systematically disassemble our free republic.

When you realize all these benighted frauds are concentrated in such a small area, it astonishes the mind how they could be allowed to continue unabated with respect to the size of our nation.

"Our founders understood the danger of runaway government power and tyranny"

I doubt our founders could imagine how corrupt the government they founded would become, such that it would authorize the murder of over 55 million children of the womb. Maybe the founders figured that true Americans would indict, try, convict and sentence such corrupt government officials and their collaborators and put an end to such genocidal crime against humanity.

So far it looks like the founders didn't figure right.

If you think you’d rather have a global govt, or rule by the ‘elites’ then just look at what they did to Ireland in the mid 1800s. They wiped out 1/2 the population with the fake Irish Potato famine.

There were contracts for the dairy and meats to be exported. And when the potatoes and other foods became scarce, the British forced Ireland to keeps its contracts and export the food, by gunpoint. They forced all the food out of the country, leaving the people to starve.

They have, and will, use food as a population reduction mechanism. This is the case for a strong, nationalist central government that puts its people first. I guarantee you, the politicians in Ireland at the time were well fed.
