Once an individual decides to pollute their body with foreign substances that were not in the evolutionary experience, it is no shock that the outcomes are bad. For instance human beings did not evolve with chronic levels of carbon monoxide in their blood. But that is exactly what happens when people inhale burning products on a regular basis. The health consequences such as atherosclerosis, heart attack cancers follow. The human brain is 90% phospholipid. It is unknown just how those fats up there churn around to allow humans the higher intellectual functions that distinguish themselves from other species. Again when an individual permeates the brain with foreign substances such as illegal drugs , alcohol or other substances that permeate the blood brain barrier, the results ought to surprise no one. Sorry but there is a price to pay for hedonistic debauchery.

True enough. But some would argue legal drugs are different. Alcohol is simply a slower process.
