Executive Order Reducing Poverty in America by Promoting Opportunity and Economic Mobility
www.whitehouse.gov/ ^ | 4/10/2018 | white house

Posted on 04/10/2018 9:54:15 PM PDT by bitt

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and to promote economic mobility, strong social networks, and accountability to American taxpayers, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Purpose. The United States and its Constitution were founded on the principles of freedom and equal opportunity for all. To ensure that all Americans would be able to realize the benefits of those principles, especially during hard times, the Government established programs to help families with basic unmet needs. Unfortunately, many of the programs designed to help families have instead delayed economic independence, perpetuated poverty, and weakened family bonds. While bipartisan welfare reform enacted in 1996 was a step toward eliminating the economic stagnation and social harm that can result from long-term Government dependence, the welfare system still traps many recipients, especially children, in poverty and is in need of further reform and modernization in order to increase self-sufficiency, well-being, and economic mobility.

https://www.vox.com/2018/4/10/17221292/trump-welfare-executive-order-work-requirements

Trump wants to slash welfare with stricter work requirements
Trump calls on his Cabinet to propose stronger work requirements for welfare across the board

“President Donald Trump is making a big push to expand work requirements in the nation’s social safety net, calling on his administration to propose tougher rules for America’s most vulnerable population to benefit from welfare programs.

Trump signed the Reducing Poverty in America by Promoting Opportunity and Economic Mobility executive order privately Tuesday, ordering secretaries across the government to review their welfare programs — from food stamps to Medicaid to housing programs — and propose new regulations, like work requirements.

The executive order calls on federal agencies to enforce current work requirements, propose additional, stronger requirements, and find savings (in other words, make cuts), and to give states more flexibility to run welfare programs”..

Those who are not lame should not expect to eat if they refuse to work. I’m not a biblical scholar so can’t cite chapter and verse, but I believe it’s in there.

i very much like most of the tone of this

but it only calls for studies, does not appear to actually do anything

so... in the meanwhile, while the studies are underway... I pray DJT Drains the Washington swamp starting with the Mueller farce and the Snake Department Nazi nest, and going on from there

To extort taxes from a working man and his family through the threat of imprisonment to give those monies to those who are only lazy to work or scamming the system is slavery. Such a system needs to be destroyed since it's existence is unconscionable.

Of particular note in this executive order:

“(b) Within 90 days of the date of this order, the Secretaries shall each submit a report to the President, through the Director of the Office of Management and Budget and the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, that:

(i) states how their respective agencies are complying with 8 U.S.C. 1611(a), which provides that an alien who is not a “qualified alien” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1641 is, subject to certain statutorily defined exceptions, not eligible for any Federal public benefit as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1611(c);”

The Federal Government owes it to Americans to use taxpayer dollars for their intended purposes. Relevant agencies should establish clear metrics that measure outcomes so that agencies administering public assistance programs can be held accountable. These metrics should include assessments of whether programs help individuals and families find employment, increase earnings, escape poverty, and avoid long-term dependence. Whenever possible, agencies should harmonize their metrics to facilitate easier cross-programmatic comparisons and to encourage further integration of service delivery at the local level. Agencies should also adopt policies to ensure that only eligible persons receive benefits and enforce all relevant laws providing that aliens who are not otherwise qualified and eligible may not receive benefits.

Finally, thanks be to God for this man!

Thessalonians 3:6
6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching[a] you received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, 8 nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. 10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. 13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.

14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. 15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.

How is this different from the work requirements I reluctantly give Billy C credit for. Obama did away with it of course? I have been out of the news loop a few days.

Relevant agencies should establish clear metrics that measure outcomes

I said it before, and I will say it again:

PDJT is Mr. ISO9000

That is:

1. Say what you do

2. Do what you say

3. Prove it with documentation (metrics)

Recall his statement at the start of the run for the Presidency

A big chunk of it has been implemented or is on track.

(Spokeshave who was an ISO9000 registered auditor in a previous existence)
