FULL TITLE: Senator Tim Scott Unloads on Facebook: “What Is Unsafe About Two Black Women Supporting the President?”

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) is a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.

On Tuesday the committee met as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was meeting with senators on Capitol Hill.

Tim Scott took time out of his committee to address Facebook and why the company believes two black women supporting Trump are “unsafe for the community?”

In a bit of irony, I’m posting video from our HELP Committee hearing today. As I’m sure many of you know, Mark Zuckerberg is on the Hill to testify today, and though I’m not on the Commerce or Judiciary Committees where he is being questioned, I did want to take the opportunity to express my concerns with Facebook seemingly censoring conservative views.

He certainly does! AND the Federal Government has every right to regulate interstate commerce, aka Facebook!

Initially, yes.

But if he is a social media monopoly, what right does he have to act as a wing of the democrat party, and suppress debate?

I’m not sure about that. Didn’t Cruz say that because of the type of filing MZ chose for registering / starting FB (maybe re FCC), he doesn’t have that right? Maybe I’m wrong but that’s how we understood what Cruz said.

The world existed before computers, and it will exist after computers, although not as well because we are losing the ability to function in mathematics without them.

Yes , he does, but what is really childish and stupid is giving the lame excuse for doing it...

“A danger to the community.”....What stupidity...

I don’t want the government to decide what must be allowed on my web site. When does my web site become a monopoly? That decision invites abuse of power. When all the media went left in the 1980s Rush Limbaugh flourished. On the interwebs the barriers are even lower than an AM radio talk show.

“...what right does he have to act as a wing of the democrat party, and suppress debate?”

The same right any other member of the mainstream media has to censor their discussion boards.

While I agree that he does have the right to refuse sevice to anyone, I think so do bakers. And until bakers are awarded the ability to pick and choose who they will provide service, FB should be held to at least the same standards, especially being a publically traded company. FB has more of a monopoly on social media than the bakers in WA had in their small sector.

Friend, you took my comment out of contest. I posted this:

"But if he is a social media monopoly, what right does he have to act as a wing of the democrat party, and suppress debate?"

Facebook is indeed a monopoly, at least at this time it is. Monopolies can indeed be regulated.

Zukerberg has no God given right to be sneakily biased in this case.

Most, if not all of the mainstream media, which is a propaganda machine, does not maintain any discussion board at all. They know their fake news would be called out by informed individuals.

Facebook is really little more than a glorified discussion forum but one that links blog spaces to the discussion.

It really isn’t a monopoly. It’s just really good at what it does and it offers a lot of features that people like.

Free Republic is competition for FB if you think about it.

either he’s a neutral platform or he’s a political platform. A monopoly can’t have it both ways.

It’s an alternate place to shoot the bull. It still isn’t as easy or pretty as FB.
