Your argument would carry more weight if their were any real alternatives to Face Book or twitter. They are essentially monopolies serving as public utilities.

That is what I am wondering...I get mad at them for what they are doing, but it is his site and people are free to leave. I don’t understand any illegality with what has happened. As far as the data sharing- people agreed to that when they signed up unless there is more to it. Data sharing goes back before the internet- years ago if you ordered from SEARS you ended up with all sorts of other catalogs and junk mail. It is nothing new.

I keep wondering how this can be a legal issue, unless he set it up in some way that means it is regulated in ways that say FR is not.

If we had actual reporters maybe they could explain why all of this is an issue for Congress or a legal issue of some kind.

When Leftists deny they are doing something anti-Constitutional, they almost certainly are.

Their denials, affirmations...or most commonly, accusations, always fall into one or more of the following four categories:

1.) Lying

2.) Pretzel Logic

3.) Projection

4.) Clock right twice a day

4.) All of the above.

I do not include telling the truth, because even on rare occasions they may tell the truth, but this often falls under the "Clock right twice a day" category.

Certainly, he is censoring, but is it his service? If he owns the site he can censor speech. It happens on every site. Jim will not appreciate me calling it censorship but there is content and speech that is prohibited on this site. It is Jim’s site and he may do that. I sometimes disagree with that but I understand that if he did not the site could soon be overrun by people seeking to destroy it or at best it becoming this nasty vitriolic venue no one would enjoy except nasty, evil trolls. Thankfully, Jim is not mining data, bombarding us with advertisement and I largely agree with his position. If I did not, I would go somewhere else.

See what happens to your local diner if they refuse service to people based on a whole list of defined characteristics. They will be shut down very quickly.

I love this site but FR is about 1/10,000 the size of Face Book.

FB is functions as a public utility because of its size.
