Posted on 04/13/2018 8:35:07 AM PDT by Rummyfan
It's not just because I have yet to read Dostoevsky's The Possessed or George Eliot's Middlemarch or an embarrassing amount of Faulkner that I will not pony up $17.95 for a hard copy or even $14.95 for the Kindle version of James Comey's new book A Higher Loyalty, subtitled, in case you miss his drift, Truth, Lies and Leadership.
It's also not just because I find him one of the more pompous individuals, real or imagined, this side of an Oscar Wilde play. And it's further not just because from the few excerpts I've seen the writing seems predictably puerile. (In case you're interested, Comey's still identifying with Reinhold Niebuhr.)
It's not even because the forthcoming inspector general's report will undoubtedly make this all seem like a pile of self-serving ballast (it is already). The fired McCabe, Strzok, Page and the rest of the jerks, you will recall, all worked for Comey. Some manager!

I’ll wait a few weeks to get a copy at Goodwill.
Won’t be long until it is in the rack at the Dollar Store.
Who doesn’t think the book sales are a way to get his payoff and to pay for good lawyers?
I hope they print it on high-quality paper. Once it’s available at the Dollar Store it could be cheaper to use than toilet paper.
Pompous & self-righteous phony.
Would you buy it if it came with a certificate to give him a wedgie?
I use Goodwill for most of my reading - Comey’s book ain’t on my list.
Id only buy it if it came with a certificate guaranteeing a conviction for treason
The only copies sold will be paid for by SEIU.
It sounds like a prosecutor could make a case against him just on the book.
James Comey’s Book = Fiction
He should title it Life On Acid.
“Ill wait a few weeks to get a copy at Goodwill.”.......
Keep you eye on the street corner trash cans, why waste your money buying a copy?
Couldn’t pay me to read Comey’s garbage.
Speed read it for free at the bookstore, or check it out for free from your library.
Dostoevsky’s “The Possessed” is actually quite good.
It’s about a group of elite, aristocratic, snobby, ineffectual aristocrats who think they are being quite clever by being in a cell of socialists.
It doesn’t end well.
(((Dostoevsky seemed to be quite prescient in his time!)))
I’m not reading it because:
1. I will not use my money to buy it;
2. Neither will any of my conservative friends, so, there’s no one to borrow it from.
3. Comey is just a chronologically older David Hogg, and one gender removed from Hillary (I think).
Wikipedia says In 1996, Comey acted as deputy special counsel to the Senate Whitewater Committee. Its probably why the Clintons skated way back then.
