In another twist, Patrick Fitzgerald, the Special Counsel that convicted Libby, was appointed by then deputy Attorney General James Comey.
Let’s not forget that the leaker was Richard Armitage in the Plame fiasco.
His boss, Colin Powell, Secretary of State, knew this and kept his mouth shut for three whole years about it.
Libby and Rove almost went to prison over this.
As it was, Libby had to pay a $250,000 fine and serve 400 hours of probation.
Guess he doesn’t get any of that back.

Yup, Comey not only selected and appointed Fitzgerald, but as Deputy AG he was ultimately responsible for oversight of the Special Counsel.... i.e., either Comey FAILED to do basic competent oversight of Fitzgerald OR (more likely) Comey knew that Fitzgerald was railroading Scooter Libby and let him do it (may well have instructed him to do it!).
This pardon (totally appropriate and long overdue) is a direct smack in the face for Comey as well as Fitzgerald... and everyone else responsible for that fiasco. It is no accident that it’s being announced today. F.U., James Comey.

good for trump...I think this is a way for trump to tell everyone of his supporter’s who are wrongfully prosecuted that they will be protected and pardoned if they did not intently commit crime during the investigation

What happened to Libby was just another example of how evil the left is. The left does not care how many people they crush in their quest for power. And yet they claim to care about people.
Still, I am happy that the President pardoned him.

I certainly thought he would have, especially after it was revealed in 2006 that it was Richard Armitage who had leaked Plame’s name to Robert Novak. That was when I totally turned away from W. His first term was okay, but his second term was a disaster.
