I have never liked any US involvement in the Mid-East. If we could get locals like the Israelis, not the Mossad,the Saudis or Egypt to do what needs to be done in the area instead of getting involved militarily we would be far better off.
The problem you have with the mid-east is easily displayed by what happened in Iraq alone.
George Bush,43, basically won that state. He defeated Saddam Hussein for better or worse had him killed and planned on leaving enough troops in-country to keep the peace.
Than along came ozero undid it all and next thing we know the Iranians come marching in and undo a lot of what was done.
Truth is if you don't have a military presence in every small village,city or anywhere anything might happen you can't keep the peace in the mid east.And everyone wants the same thing crude oil reserves.
I don't care if its Iraq,Iran,Syria, or a dozen other countries from Yemen to Libya. It's all the same. If you are a foreign non-muslim power you better come to the table with lots of troops, lots of firepower and be ready to stay forever to achieve what Donald Trump would describe as a win.
I doubt we have that sort of resolve.
In that case we should let the few legitimate players in the region to get the job done. Only makes common sense.
Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe. Unfortunately, the Saudis have entangled their investment money beyond hope of extracting them from the rest of the first world; and yet they are so fearful of being deposed that they rarely refuse a polite request.

Astute points. I know the elephant in the room is our own oil independence. The only thing keeping us from it over last 50 yrs is our government reps selling us out...plain and simple. We need no oil from anyone, In fact, we need like 10 more refineries...without $ to build madrasses, there are minimal problems from M.E.,...but the same government reps need $ from players in the MIC...military industrial complex, and the Carlyle Group, Booze-Allen, etc. Keeps the war, CIA engine greased... We both know both Bushes are to blame for much of this,and the Clintons and Obamas...not to mention all the $$$ they and their buds made off the drug imports at the nation’s expense. Treasonous bunch should be hanging from trees...
