It is highly possible that all Comey ever wanted was that “multi-million check” and everything else is irrelevant to him. He’d be very much like every member of Congress if that were the case.

I’m thinking the same. Perhaps if they have everyone lying and creating mass confusion, it will not be possible to sort out what really went on, and thus not prosecute anyone.
