What makes the mayor of highly polluted, crime-ridden, poorly run Los Angeles think he should run the country?
With no clear frontrunner, it’s open season among Democrats for 2020. Every day there’s a new contender throwing their hat into the ring (or any other article of clothing that self-identifies as a hat).
Stretching to find a candidate is symptomatic of the Democrats’ losses under President Obama: Governors make great presidential nominees, but the Democrats have so few governors left to choose from they have to get creative. So a position that’s getting unusual attention is that of mayor.
Last week week Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti spoke to a group in Iowa to test the waters, or cornfields, for his presidential aspirations. As the Associated Press wrote, Garcetti was “hoping to show party activists that his experience running a city can preview success on the national scene.”

After a “political activist” of highly polluted, crime-ridden, poorly run Detroit somehow stumbled into it.
But garcetti isn’t nice and clean.

Make that “ighly polluted, crime-ridden, poorly run CHICAGO”
All those liberal hellholes run together in my mind.
Like it or not, Garcetti is likely to be in the top three primary contenders for the Democrats in 2020 (Bernie and Senator Harris). He’s filled all the squares for urbanization/blue-state voters, and is a Latino favorite.
Beyond that, his achievements and promises won’t really interest red-state voters.
If Trump wasn’t running, then I’d probably given better than average numbers for Garcetti. But in this case, with Trump in the mix...Garcetti basically wins the same states as Hillary.
And the one odd plus-up over Hillary....Garcetti could actually write out a whole page resume of accomplishments.

Know who makes an even better nominee? A incorruptible businessman who actually cares about the people of this country. Trump has gotten more done in two years than the last two Presidents combined. And he has done it despite the hostile opposition of the media, democrats and his own party.
I cannot even imagine how far Trump would have gone if he had a fair media and support of his party.
But he’s a good looking Latino...

I sense a return of the arousal gap ala the Clinton years.
We'll know for sure though if Chrissy Matthews gets that tingle again.
Is this guy related to the DA in Los Angeles that was given a high profile due to the OJ case?

Perfect credentials for a big city Democrat.
And the Ladies love his style. He’s simply dreamy to the empty headed liberal ladies.
The Democrats can never again nominate a Caucasian male for POTUS. It’s simply not possible.
The radical moves they have planned for the future, like flood-the-zone third-world immigration for complete demographic replacement, and repeal of the Second Amendment, require that their POTUS be able to hide behind identity politics in order to escape withering criticism and destruction of the Democrat brand.
Boy, what a referendum that would be. Trump vs a "all illegals, always, no matter what" opponent.
Liberalism's goal is to destroy America. The mayor has proof he can do it.
