Like it or not, Garcetti is likely to be in the top three primary contenders for the Democrats in 2020 (Bernie and Senator Harris). He’s filled all the squares for urbanization/blue-state voters, and is a Latino favorite.
Beyond that, his achievements and promises won’t really interest red-state voters.
If Trump wasn’t running, then I’d probably given better than average numbers for Garcetti. But in this case, with Trump in the mix...Garcetti basically wins the same states as Hillary.
And the one odd plus-up over Hillary....Garcetti could actually write out a whole page resume of accomplishments.
Boy, what a referendum that would be. Trump vs a "all illegals, always, no matter what" opponent.
