Wawa is a suburb of Philly. It is Native American for goose, hence the goose...

who the hell comes up with these names?Wawa, PA is the name of the town in which the company originally started, as the Wawa Dairy. It is from the language of the original inhabitants of the area, the Leni-Lenape Indianstheir word for Canada goose. You can see a Canada goose in the Wawa stores' logo.
Someone upthread mentioned that Sheetz is the family name of the people who started the Sheetz chain.

There everywhere here but who the hell comes up with these names? Wawa means Goose in a local Indian dialect. The corporation is headquartered in Wawa, Pennsylvania.
