Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on Thursday urged policymakers to steer clear of all protectionist measures amid rising trade tensions between the United States and its major trading partners.

"Trade restrictions have not been proven helpful and we suspect that they might even dent confidence," Lagarde said at a press conference during the spring meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, adding all countries should "work together to resolve disagreements without using exceptional measures."

The spring meetings of the two leading international financial institutions come after the Trump administration recently announced additional tariffs on imported steel and aluminum and threatened to impose broad tariffs against Chinese imports.

I have found pretty much every single position taken by Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, is something I am diametrically opposed to.

She is the perfect contrary indicator.

:D

"Trade restrictions have not been proven helpful and we suspect that they might even dent confidence,"

Trade deficits are unsustainable. That is not going to be helpful either.

IMF says avoid “protectionist” measures because we foreigners wish to rape you. Nobody should be allowed to protect themselves. We IMF want to import Africa into the USA, 200 million low IQ imports, while Africa genocides their whites.

We IMF call this fair trade because it is fair bribery to your rulers.

Remember when the "rebels" overthrew Qadaffi and the first thing these "rebels" did was create a central bank? Because, you know, that's what "rebels" do.

ImF has the Ukraine as a debtor nation now as well. They’ll never be free as a stand alone nation and that was the intention by the ImF that has them neatly under their control.
