And I believe your post expresses what 99% of FReepers are advocating. There is nothing wrong with planned and controlled legal immigration along with expected cultural assimilation (not cultural abandonment). What so many are really advocating, just below the surface, is the importation of hordes of third-world people to pick the cotton, or lettuce, or to reduce labor costs in a given factory — at the expense of the well-being and civil order of this country.
The latter is nothing but self-interest and so contributing money to bribe politicians to lower your production costs at the expense of everyone else is just plain immoral.
This is precisely why most of the elected GOP goes against the wishes of their voters.
They own most of the GOP Senators.
Flake, Corker, Hatch, Heller, Alexander, Graham, McCain, Murkowsky, Hoeven, Rubio, Tillis, Burr, Lankford, Gardner, Cornyn, Cochran, Collins, Sasse, Kennedy, Shelby, Ernst, Blunt, McConnell, Wicker, Portman, Isakson, Johnson, Toomey, Rounds, Thune, Gaines, Barasso and Enzi are all Bush League Republicans hell bent on turning the USA into North Mexico.
