I'm torn. I think Cosby is a scumbag who did it and deserves whatever punishment he gets. but the road the prosecution took to get it was sketchy at best. They chose to take testimony Cosby gave in a civil case under an immunity agreement (and hence he could be compelled to testify since he could not argue self-incrimination peril) and then flipped it for a criminal prosecution. Basically they did an end-around to sidestep the 5th amendment and railroaded Cosby into testifying against himself. From a civil liberties perspective that's corrupt and wrong.

Certainly Cosby is not a good poster child for prosecutorial misconduct, given that he's almost certainly guilty of multiple heinous crimes over many years. But still, when prosecutors play such games it's worrisome.

It is worse than worrisome in my opinion. I don’t like Federal courts or prosecutors. Many or most will do anything for a win to preserver their ninety five percent conviction rate. Justice and Federal Court somehow don’t seem very compatible. They are experts in character assassination and live in the negative. Recently attended a Fed Court sentencing where an 83 year old was sentenced to 12 years. In his condition it is a life sentence. He could have been sentenced to the minimum 5 years, but the judge had to make an example of him. He did not deserve anything beyond 5 in my opinion, but who am I.

Yes. Because if they can play such games with anyone, they can play them with anyone
