President Trump on Sunday joined in on the criticism of comedian Michelle Wolf's performance at this year's White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner, calling her "filthy" and slamming the event as an "embarrassment."
“The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a failure last year, but this year was an embarrassment to everyone associated with it,” Trump tweeted.
“The filthy ‘comedian’ totally bombed (couldn’t even deliver her lines-much like the Seth Meyers weak performance). Put Dinner to rest, or start over!” he added, referencing Meyers' 2011 headlining performance in which he roasted Trump. That same event also featured former President Obama mocking Trump, who at the time was one of the leading figures in the "birther" movement. Some point to Obama's monologue that night as the moment that led Trump to run for president.
Trump did not attend Saturday night's gala. For the second consecutive year, he held a campaign rally outside the nation’s capital that coincided with the event.
In his absence, Wolf gave a 20-minute monologue that took aim at the president, Vice President Pence, Ivanka Trump, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the media and others.
Numerous journalists and conservative commentators expressed disapproval with Wolf's remarks, saying she had gone too far, particularly in her jokes aimed at Sanders.
Some reporters went as far as to suggest the dinner cease to exist in its current form.
WHCA president Margaret Talev said in a statement Sunday night that Wolf's monologue "was not in the spirit" of the organization's mission of promoting journalism and a free press.
Celebrities and a number of other journalists have defended Wolf, arguing that she did what she was hired to do in roasting the current administration. Others pointed out that the president has made vulgar remarks and pushed conspiracy theories without apologizing.

The Left seemed pretty gleeful at first. Boy, Wolf really gave it to him, huh? And, gee, Sarah Huckabee Sanders was almost in tears! Wasn’t that awesome?
They were slow to see (because they are so out of touch) but the media seems to be realizing that no one liked that trash except for them. Only they are so filthy and so disrespectful. Normal people reject that stuff.
And so now the media is all “tsk, tsk, that woman went a tad too far, don’t you think?”

Now this is a prime example of "winning." I remember Bush used to sit through this obnoxious dinner year after year, grinning like an idiot as some liberal comedian insulted him and everyone around him in the nastiest of terms. And it weakened him and strengthened the liberal Washington press.
Trump refuses to go for two years in a row and slams the event and now even the reporters are starting to wonder if they should continue having it.
I call them the Fake Stream Media...
All they do is lie, lie and lie. The only truth is reporting sport scores and next day weather.
This is why people go to alternative sources because the Fake Stream News has been caught lying, deceiving and tricking the public.
They are lower than gutter rats, and have the morals of a cockroach.

It’s just nasty personal attacks that’s only funny to people that hate the POTUS. When has that been considered comedy?
It must suck for her to be so full of hate and intolerance. Or maybe she is just dead inside.
“Comedy” does not mean inflicting pain on people or animals. Apparently, in this culture, comedy and humor include causing someone pain, and encouraging others to enjoy the pain, by the periodic release of air known as “laughter.”
The best laughter is that of a baby when mommy plays with him/her. Or of the parents enjoying the baby’s laughter.
Some elements have perverted the meaning of laughter, humor and comedy to include the feeling that some have upon seeing the misfortunes of other people. Did people laugh as the head fell from the guillotine? Laughing AT someone is cruel. Late night “comedians” are not funny either with their sophisticated “jokes.”
But then the left has no sense of humor. It is angry with itself and the world, and is sinking deeper and deeper into nihilism.
We could get the same presentation from any coke whore in any gutter.
“Filthy” is one way to describe her.But IMO a more fitting label would be “pole dancer”....just like the one who’s been in the news recently.
Can we put an end to the vulgar female comedy schtick?
You can put a pig in a fancy dress but it is still a pig.
CNN has a major connection to the entire mess so I wouldn’t expect anything less but will only expect and for what its worth demand, the WH and Pres Trump opt out of the entire Shit fest next year and 6 or so after that .

It was not comedy but partisan political hatred towns too many.
She didnt write it but chose to own it by reading that crap so she can take the fall fo it and rightfully so.
