The UN sanctions can’t be reimposed. The EU, the Russians and the Chinese will not go along with it.
Nothing prevents the US from unilaterally reimposing its own sanctions upon Iran. They will hurt Iran significantly even if the rest of the world helps it to evade them.
And we hold economic clout over Europe with trade tariffs to get them to go along with blockading Iran.
