Does the prospect of a government-guaranteed job appeal to you? You’ve got company: nearly half of U.S. voters like the idea, according to a recent poll. The proposal has been getting some traction on the left lately, after being floated by think tanks and embraced by likely Democratic presidential candidates including Sens. Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand and Bernie Sanders. In a new Rasmussen Reports poll, 46% said they favored such a program. Sanders, according to the Washington Post, backs a version that would see local and state governments offer proposals for public works projects. Workers would be hired for at least $15 an hour with paid family and medical leave.

If they want to offer jobs to any able bodied U.S. citizen who is ready, willing, and able to work their rear ends off for minimum wage I have no problem with it. But these need to be necessary jobs and not make work like getting coffee for an elected official. I’m talking about filling potholes, picking up litter, and pretty much anything that needs done. The WPA was part of the New Deal and probably the only good part of the New Deal since I prefer citizens who can work for assistance is better than letting them sit on the porch all day. However, I don’t trust politicians any more, especially liberal dimwits and communist like Sanders. I am sure they would use it to establish an even firmer control over weak minded Americans who wrongly believe that the only hope to have food to eat is to vote for them. I really see this as another harbinger of a pending split of the nation in the not too distant future, an alarming sounding idea but one that I think may necessarily be the only way that we conservatives will ever be able to ourselves of a progressive culture that is in opposition to everything we believe and hold dear.
That’s what socialists do best...kill a country.
