I was at the March For Justice, 20 years ago. And, yes...I think we need another one. It is time!

...as Bill Clinton found out when he was impeached for lying to Congress.

That wasn't the charge at all.

He was impeached on two counts:

Article I charged that Clinton lied to the grand jury in the Paula Jones civil suit (he was sworn under oath).
Article II was not approved by the House.
Article III charged Clinton with attempting to obstruct justice in the Jones case.

The Senate acquitted Clinton on both articles.

I like it.

I’ve had quite enough of this crap, too. We have to organize.

The biker groups are absolutely essential. We’re a peaceful lot, but not fools.

Keep in mind, some of us are old and can't stand outside all day in 85+ or 50- degrees. These are average DC temps but it could well be higher or lower at any given time.

Thanks, Pollard, you are right.

Speaking of this, I hurt my back pretty bad and have been in bed half the time since.

I need to get us going, but also need others to probably take command.

I can build a website. Facebook page too. I’ve also got a list of about 1500 Tea Party people’s email addresses. I had a Tea Party newsletter for a short time.

Here’s 606,490 young patriots right here. https://www.reddit.com/r/The_Donald/

More on gab.ai

Seems there’s quite a few people that won’t be able to make it either due to funds, health or other reason so I would think State/local/regional venues at the same time would be good.

In prior weeks, leading up to DC, there could be protests at FBI and DOJ locations would be good but it would have to be a weekday to have affect. AG locations. Courthouses or residences of activist Judges. Congress critters in their home State. Town Halls for them as well.

Need to get in touch with RSBN too. They’ve got video gear and film things like crowd size honestly. I like the 11/11 thing but I’m wondering how long the parade will be and if there’d be much time for a rally on the same day. But man, what a visual. Might actually scare the crap out of the swamp to see 1-2 million patriots show up for a military parade AND protest the swamp. 11/11/18 is a Sunday. Wouldn’t it be great if the DC DOJ and FBI had trouble getting to work Monday? Rally Saturday, Parade Sunday, DC blockade Monday.

I would propose a “Million Gun March” on Washington.

That would certainly outgun any police presence! Great idea!

Ping!

Right back at you, Alas Babylon!, please consider creating a protest ping list, and add me to it! We need more civic activism.

I was also in DC for the marches in 2009 and 2010, best days of my life. Best people on the planet.

What I’m afraid of is that 50,000 people could show up and the media wouldn’t say a word about it, or they’d announce that 287 pro-Trump lunatics arrived, ranted, were laughed at, and went home.
That’s par for the course.
It’s shocking to me that this idea can be discussed with scarcely any reference to the fact that we “been there, done that” on 9/12/2009.

When we went there, I was expecting that it would be just, or mostly, a couple of hundred FReeper families. It wasn’t. I don’t know who organized that event, but it wasn’t just FReepers; when we got to the subway station to ride to the Mall the crowd was massive and the subway was free to ride because they could not otherwise process the crush of people. The upshot was that when we arrived at the nominal start time of the event, there was already a big crowd and many of us had not paraded down to where the speakers were to deliver their speeches.

People had arrived by the multiple busload, and when Dick Armey spoke he suggested the crowd was a million strong. And certainly our assemblage was in the same order of magnitude as the “Million Man March” crowd. And the media coverage? There were news trucks and cameras everywhere. </sarcasm> There was not one news organization there. From what I saw, TV news reports barely, if at all, even alluded to it.

Rush Limbaugh mentioned it prospectively, and said that he would not attend because he didn’t want it to be dismissed as just his celebrity creating it - but he never mentioned how big it actually was, and apparently did not and does not know how big it actually was. Back then, Twitter was not even a thing. Today, any Tweet from President Trump gets more coverage than our whole assembly in the Washington Mall got.

It would be better to attack the media. They have been twisting minds and providing cover for criminals for too long. If they did their job truthfully, there would be no Hillary or Mueller.
That’s why, to me, there is only one issue - delegitimating “the media.” Without “the media” and its ability to propagandize the masses we the people, the Democrats would be dead in the water. I’ve been on that case since Carter was a president, and I have some conclusions/recommendations:
  1. the issue is not the “media,” it is the specific format of "information” which the media are used to propagandize with. Namely, the “topical nonfiction” format known as “the news.” Journalism. If you are whining about “the media” and not laying a glove on journalists in particular, you are a loser. Granted that fiction can be effectively used against us, nobody is going to support censorship of nonfiction, so it is utterly useless to whine about it. But (as a mater of facts and logic, and hence of law) journalism has its vulnerabilities.

    • Journalism as we know it is wire service journalism, and all wire services - and most spectacularly, the Associated Press - have a powerful homogenizing tendency. That is, wire service journalism generates "a conspiracy against the public,” as Adam Smith predicted of any meeting of “people of the same trade.” (And the AP “wire” is a virtual meeting of all major journalism outlets in the US, ongoing since before the Civil War, which by Smith’s logic makes a conspiracy against the public inevitable).

    • Journalism is known (by journalists themselves, and anyone who cares to look) to be negative. And yet journalists claim that journalism is objective.

    • A claim that journalism - known to be negative - is objective is effectively a claim that “negativity is objectivity.” But that is a statement of pure cynicism.

    • The cynicism - the extreme skepticism - of journalism is directed at society rather than government. In fact, cynicism towards society cries out for unlimited government to save society from itself.

    • The combination of cynicism toward society and naive faith in government promoted by journalism is precisely what socialist propaganda wants to sell.

    • The promotion of socialist propaganda is the “conspiracy against the public” which a reading of Smith requires us to expect from wire service, and especially AP, journalism.

  2. The upshot is that the AP and its membership should be sued under Anti-Trust legislation, and the AP itself destroyed. Because the mission of the AP - the conservation of scarce, expensive bandwidth in the propagation of news - is anachronism in the era of plentiful, inexpensive data transmission bandwidth.

  3. Campaign Finance regulation either has to directly regulate journalism, or it has to carve out exceptions for the membership of the AP to putatively avoid violation of 1A. But freedom of the press must mean that the government cannot regulate journalism and it cannot prevent anyone from being a journalist. The FEC is unconstitutional, root and branch. And the justification of the FCC is very sketchy.
If you whine about “the media” but cannot call out journalism, you can never make progress. The issue is not that journalism is not objective - of course it isn’t, and cannot be - but that the people are indoctrinated with the propaganda that journalism (somehow) is objective. And that the bias inherent in journalism is toward pro-socialist, anti-freedom, propaganda.

Babylon, Appreciate and respect your zeal, but the Swamp just laughs at us when we enter those fetid waters.
There’s a more effective way and it’s something we can - and should - do right at home.
The 2018 elections will bring the Swamp People back to Flyover Country to implore us to punch their tickets for another 2 or 6 years.
Every concerned citizen should go to as many Congressional Town Hall Meetings as possible if only because they are great theater.
But, here’s the thing, if YOUR GUY DOES NOT have microphones available for voters to ask those questions, YOU NEED ANOTHER GUY IN THAT JOB.
DO NOT allow him to pass out those small note cards on which you are to write your question or comment. If he does that, you will notice that his district staffer will shuffle through them and pass on to his boss ONLY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS favorable to the boss.
If YOUR GUY uses that system, REPLACE HIM!!
And, another thing: If you ask an intelligent and thoughtful question and your guy gives a typical weasel worded response, all is not lost. Your question – and his dumb response - MAY have educated others on some issue they have never considered, moving THEM to formulate a critical follow-up question or comment!
Years ago, I rose at a local school board meeting and asked why it was that the Civics book my son had shown me looked like it had been written in the Soviet Union?
When I finished the question over half the parents applauded and made positive comments.
The Superintendent of Schools – a pretty decent and, it turned out, conservative older fellow – stepped up and remarked that he, too, was concerned about that and went on to offer that the problem was (and still is) that “…most of them are written by folks who teach at liberal Eastern universities.” He continued by saying that while many of those decisions were made at the state level, he asked any parents who knew of alternative publishers to get in touch with him.
When the meeting broke up, over two dozen parents surrounded me and asked if I could steer them to organizations where they could learn more about how to cure the problems they were also having with the government schools.
I was more than happy to tell them.
Remain at the mike and DON’T LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THE OLD POLITICAL TRICK OF ANSWERING SOME OTHER QUESTION.
And, YES, it can be a BOTHER to haul yourself out of the house and go to these things. It can be made LESS of a bother to take a car load of like-minded conservative friends and neighbors, grab a bite to eat then on to the “festivities”.
But, do you know what is even MORE BOTHERSOME? Having to live under the plethora of often stupid & frivolous laws and regulations handed down from ON HIGH (for which the fast growing PRISON INDUSTRY thanks them with large contributions) by a legislature composed of hundreds of Doug Neidermeyer wannabe control freaks we keep returning to office because not enough folks can be “bothered”.
What’s that old saying again? “USE it or LOSE it”. It applies to FREEDOM and the PROCESSES of MAINTAINING IT!
MILLIONS of us hitting those meetings on a regular basis MIGHT send ‘em the message that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Oh yeah. If you can’t get to these meetings, the number at the Capitol is 202-224-3121. You should call your critters once a week or so to give them a piece of your mind. As an added bonus, you’ll be treated to the WORST MUSIC-ON-IGNORE in the history of mankind!

It’s past time for DC to come to fly-over country.

Move the Dept of Interior to the Interior and the BLM to the grasslands just east of the Rockies and the Ag Dept to the middle of the National Forests of the Rockies..

I’m sorry!

It was some time ago I posted this thread.

I was fed up and wanted to do something beside post.

However, like coming off a drunk, I realized I did not have the skills to pull it off—even remotely.

I wish there was someone who could actually make this happen but I now know it’s not going to be me.

I did register the domain name MAGAMarchOnWashignton.com if anyone wants to use it. The domain is good and locked in until May of 2019.
