Springfield Armory® Severs Ties with Dicks Sporting Goods
Springfield Armory announces its decision in response to Dicks Sporting Goods attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms
GENESEO, IL, (05/03/18) Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dicks Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying.
This latest action follows Dicks Sporting Goods decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution.
It is clear where Dicks Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the rights and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question. We will not accept Dicks Sporting Goods continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.
Such a boycott would work if the firearms industry stood together as a block.
Dozens of lawyers would step forward and file lots of suits based on some interstate commerce claim. Doesn’t have to win or be legal, they can just do it...

“’The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed.’ The right of the whole
people, old and young, men, women and boys, and not militia only, to keep and bear
arms of every description, and not such merely as are used by the militia, shall not be
infringed, curtailed, or broken in upon, in the smallest degree; and all this for the
important end to be attained: the rearing up and qualifying a well-regulated militia, so
vitally necessary to the security of a free State.”
I bet there’s one or more quid pro quo here somewhere.
DKS isn’t doing this outta the goodness of their heart.

All firearms, ammo, and accessory manufacturers should follow suit - by denying Dick’s access to the shooting/hunting market they can significantly damage their business, perhaps even run them out of business. Dick’s is not their friend.
May many more orgs walk the talk with their wallets.
Never been to Dicks, but definitely won’t darken their doors now.
Hornady cut off NY State from their ammunition.
Good for these companies.
Am I to understand Field & Stream MAGAZINE is owned by Dick’s ?
Still can’t figure how Academy sports hasn’t put them out of business. WAY over priced yuppie store.
In your spare time, go to Dicks...fill up a cart with several thousands of dollars worth of stuff.
Go up to the front....get ready to check out and have the manager called over.
Proceed to tell him that all of this stuff in the cart is what you intend to buy....from their competitor or Amazon....and because of their antigun/anti rkba policies, you are walking out the door and will never be back.
Excellent. I needed an excuse to buy that new Springfield Armory M1A with its new precision adjustable stock.
Time buy another Springfield or 2.
M1A, XDM- series and Champion, for starters.
“Honey, it’s for protecting the 2nd Amendment!”
Don’t patronize Field & Stream, either. That chain is owned by Dick’s.
They have a chain of stores named Field and Stream, not sure if connected to the magazine.

She may, but I have not spent a dime there since this started. And I use to spend a lot. They can make their statement and I can make mine. I prefer Golf Galaxy, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Northwest Armory,.....
There’s a lot of consuming going on in my household, but not there, not Target,......
My Husband, an obsessive golfer, claims that Academy doesn’t carry a lot of the brands that Dicks does. He’s now buying his clubs (and balls and tees and gear of all manner) at the local pro shop. Of course it’s priced 20+% higher but we are fortunately in the position to be comfortable with that
"While Field & Stream magazine now belongs to Bonnier (Group), the right to use the Field & Stream name on goods and services belongs to a private investment group unrelated to Bonnier or the magazine, while Dick's Sporting Goods owns the rights to the name for Field and Stream retail stores."
