Frustrated by a lack of movement in the Twin Peaks cases, a judge set trial dates Friday for three bikers, while McLennan County prosecutors dismissed 13 more cases involving those indicted in the May 2015 shootout.
Judge Matt Johnson of Wacos 54th State District Court summoned six members of the Cossacks motorcycle group or their support groups to court Friday to get updates on how their cases will be moving forward.
On Thursday, prosecutors dismissed 15 cases against bikers who had been summoned to court Friday, leaving a much smaller group at the hearing in Johnsons court. Prosecutors also formally refused an unindicted case involving Donald Fowler on Thursday.
After the hearing, prosecutors presented Johnson with 13 new dismissals, most of them involving members of the Bandidos group or their support clubs.
Cases dismissed Friday involve Justin Garcia, Cory McAlister, Jimmy Pond, Jason Dillard, Kenneth Carlisle, Richard Donias, Gilbert Zamora, Ronald Warren, Richard Smith, Phillip Sampson, Christopher Rogers, Rolando Reyes and John Martinez.
The dismissals this week bring the number of pending cases to 98, down from 155 bikers indicted after the shootout in which nine were killed and 20 were wounded and injured.
Since District Attorney Abel Reyna was defeated in the March Republican primary, his office has dismissed 56 indicted Twin Peaks cases and refused prosecution on 33 others. Special prosecutors appointed to handle four cases in which Reyna recused his office dismissed one indicted case this week.
Reyna did not attended Fridays hearing, nor was he at a similar hearing 19th State District Judge Ralph Strother held last week.
Johnson set Wesley McAlisters case for Sept. 10 as a backup case to the retrial of Jacob Carrizal, the Bandidos Dallas chapter president whose trial ended in November with a hung jury and a mistrial.

Is ANY of this getting national press coverage or “fakebook” trending?

“Whole thing is totally FUBAR.”
Bump
Has been from the first.
As predicted.
IBTG,
I wonder if Reyna is even bothering to call the shots these days, or if one of the assistants left in the office is making the call to drop the cases that he wouldn’t be willing to prosecute when they come up on the docket.
I can’t see Reyna agreeing to the dismissal language used.
I think the DA may have cancelled the social media contract there. Still active on FR, but the PR team seems to have moved on to other issues.
Dismissing is fine but it doesn’t give them back their lives that were destroyed.
Don’t ping me.
If I remember correctly there were several very active and vocal hang all the bikers on FR. I can’t remember who and am too lazy to look. Many got rounded up and spent long time with no bail or absurd bail amounts. Now their cases are being dropped. Corruption or incompetence by our betters can be devastating and yet some here cheered it on.
Their #1 cheer leader is at post #11 wishing not to talk or be reminded about it
Bttt.

Thanks for the update Elderberry
Has any ballistics been released at all?
Can the LAW say that they did not shoot and most likely kill every person that was shot and killed that day? I have given them the first pistol shot, possibly a biker kill or more probably the undercover rat’s “GO” signal for the SWAT snipers to open up on all their previously IDed “targets of interest”.
FUBAR from the beginning and I bet there is still blood stains on the concrete there.
You don’t want to be reminded? I have a feeling the lawsuits against various law enforcement agencies will seriously damage their budgets. What I really want to see, though, is for Trump to find enough non-Deep State investigators and prosecutors to look at the behavior of the LEOs involved, and put a bunch of THEM away.
It’s generally considered rude on FR to talk about someone without pinging them to the comment.
Since you aren’t interested in common courtesy, I’ll try to honor your request going forward as to this subject.
I can understand why you are not interested in defending the indefensible.
I expect civil discovery may well show how much TG was paid for services rendered, and other interesting facts.
