Amazon serves harsh blow to Christian non-profit group that defends religious freedom
Patriot Chronicles ^ | May 6, 2018 | Daphne Moon

Amazon Smile program allows customers to help benefit the charities of their choice through their purchases. That is unless your ‘charity of choice’ happens to be Alliance Defending Freedom. ADF was just dropped by Amazon as a charity option and Christian consumers are in the dark as to why...

We contacted Amazon to find out what happened, and lo and behold, Amazon informed us that we were removed because the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) determines who is qualified.”

Yes, that SPLC. The one that exploits the terms “hate” and “hate group” against any organization it disagrees with.

Without actually saying it outright, does this mean that SPLC views the non-profit that defends religious freedoms a ‘hate group’? That is what it seems like.

My chosen charity is Hope Pregnancy Centers; hopefully they don’t get booted, too.

Think this'll be enough for Christians to stop buying through Amazon?

I don't either.

Seems like the splc should be investigated.

No, I don’t either. But if Christians would stand up & start complaining to Amazon they might actually have an effect on this kind of nonsense, instead of just pissing & moaning about it.

The SPLC shouldn’t be able to vet ANY organization because they themselves are a hate group. That should be made clear to Amazon.

I hope this now becomes the basis of a lawsuit against the SPLC.

SPLC List of 'Hate Groups'

21 are listed in the Christian classification and other faith based groups appear under "other"

At least nobody is talking about enforcing our longstanding Anti-Trust laws against Amazon.

https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/competition-guidance/guide-antitrust-laws/antitrust-laws

The Sherman Act outlaws “every contract, combination, or conspiracy in restraint of trade,” and any “monopolization, attempted monopolization, or conspiracy or combination to monopolize.” Long ago, the Supreme Court decided that the Sherman Act does not prohibit every restraint of trade, only those that are unreasonable. For instance, in some sense, an agreement between two individuals to form a partnership restrains trade, but may not do so unreasonably, and thus may be lawful under the antitrust laws. On the other hand, certain acts are considered so harmful to competition that they are almost always illegal. These include plain arrangements among competing individuals or businesses to fix prices, divide markets, or rig bids. These acts are “per se” violations of the Sherman Act; in other words, no defense or justification is allowed.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is a fascist hate group that wages war on excellent organizations.

Interesting. When Amazon first started the program anyone who was a 501(c)(3) was eligible. The ADF is out but I just checked my selection and it looks like The NRA Foundation is still eligible.

I don't know if this is just because Amazon is inconsistent in their policies or if they recognize that the NRA isn't really a pro second ammendmant group. :o)

Amen, brother, amen. Cut the cable tv. Stop funding the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL. Stay away from Google, Amazon. They have the power if they would only use it.

I went to the website for the article. They listed places you could donate to them directly, but didn’t put up a place where you could email Amazon. I think that would have been AT LEAST as useful to them as a donation. Amazon should be hearing from people about this.

You’re right. I just changed mine to the AZCDL - my state equivalent of the CRPA. Maybe if the NRA was a bit more committed...

The left knows how to name things. SPLC. Nice-sounding name that disguises a radical leftist organization.

They will declare the Holy Bible “hate literature” due to LGBT and slavery passages. Amazon and Barnes & Noble won’t stock it. David Hogg will be deputized to accompany FBI agents on house to house confiscation of guns and Bibles and will lecture the families as the husbands get taken to re-education camps due to being seen grimacing by Facebook cameras during Elizabeth Warren speech. Convicted of white supremacy.

Send ADF a donation in lieu of an Amazon purchase. ADF does the Lord’s work.

I think that the Southern Poverty Law Center is going to eventually sued over stuff like this and end up losing a lot of money to lawyers in a class action suit for labeling a group as a hate group because it disagrees with policy.
