Multiple rural Illinois counties have passed resolutions establishing a so-called “sanctuary” for gun owners in a bid to thwart the state legislature’s efforts to enact stricter gun control.

"I don’t think you can say, ‘I don’t agree with the law so I won’t enforce it,’” said Kathleen Willis, a Democratic state representative from suburban Chicago who sponsored some of the gun legislation. “I think it sends the wrong message.”

Good to see your sense of irony is on the job so early on a Monday morning...LOL!! It appears IL may be the next state to seriously look at split, a la CA.
Note from 2016 election results....county by county....this a curious story. Hillary did win 3.09-million votes in the state....Trump 2.1-million.
But if you look at county votes....it’s like a 6-to-1 Trump win throughout the whole state. In fact, in the southern third of the state, with two counties as exception...Trump wins in like 25 counties.
The folks talking the sanctuary stuff...know what they want.
I would hope this concept catches on in every state that supports so call “sanctuary city” status for illegals. What’s fair for the goose......
It might be too little too late, but it feels like more and more people in our country are starting to wake up to what progressives and their fellow travelers have been up to for these last few decades and are taking against it.

They will need to split if they want to fight the gun laws. Sanctuary status only works for the Left, and may yet even fail them.
This brings a huge smile to my face. I posted a while ago that if the STATES followed an ELECTORAL COLLEGE” system, the country’s colors would be almost ALL RED (Republican)
Like Illinois, the democrat strength in most places is CONCENTRATED in chaotic large cities, that occupy small fractions of the land area.
In these states, the population center, with all its problem crime, corruption and chaos outvotes the other 85% of the state. One of these days, the people in the COUNTIES will realize how they are being screwed over.
But remember that Democrats are big fat hypocrites.

It is taking more ‘debate’ and struggle KEEPING the 2nd amendment in the law than the Founders had in PUTTING it there
Interesting that this rep is a SPONSOR of (HB0426 IMMIGRATION SAFE ZONES) which would make Illinois a ‘Sanctuary State’ for illegal aliens.
Apparently, logic is looked down upon in liberal circles.
