Go dig up the 2016 election map by counties in Illinois. Trump wins around 80-percent of the counties in the state. From the bottom third....he won 95-percent. It’s Chicago and urbanized voters that helped Hillary win. Anyone who thinks that the Democrats still run the state....has missed on the fact that the bulk of counties in the state are red.

I think the trend with this idea will carry forward in California as well, and various blue states.

They’re outnumbered statewide, but Chicago has so many votes they retain control anyway.

If they can have sanctuary illegal immigrant cities, this is the logical next step.

"Yah,and then the State Police arrive."

Arrive where? They can't just stop people at random. Are they going to become the local police force to insure that people are charged with 'illegal" firearms possession whenever said firearm turns up during the course of a routine police interaction?

In six months, I’ll take a wild guess that more than forty counties in Illinois have sanctuary status for gun owners. If they tell their sheriff and county law enforcement not to enforce it...the state can only rely upon the state police to handle this. I don’t see this going far. Chicago ‘thug’ handling may be attempted but the bulk of counties in the state (probably 80-percent of them) voted Trump in the last election. There’s a massive amount of public anger outside of Chicago.

Armed Republican voters defending themselves from Democrat voters, both those that want to disarm them and those that want to use their illegal guns against them.

This will be the beginning of dividing states into new ones. Just like slavery, this will be the next hot button. Protection of the Bill of
rights.

I'm not saying that it's not logical...I'm just saying that at least in certain states it wouldn't be allowed.

Illinois may,or may not,be such a state.I'm not familiar enough with the state's politics to be sure.I *can* say that it sure as hell wouldn't be tolerated in Massachusetts.
