*Primary elections will take place Tuesday in Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia and North Carolina.

*Voters will choose challengers to vulnerable Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin and Joe Donnelly in West Virginia and Indiana, respectively.

*Parties will set their nominees for multiple competitive House races in Ohio and North Carolina.

*In Ohio, both Republican and Democratic primaries for governor are competitive.

A string of 2018 primary elections take place Tuesday, shaping elections that will help to determine which party holds the House and Senate after November's midterms.

Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia will hold primaries Tuesday. Both West Virginia and Indiana will hold critical Senate elections, while intriguing House and governor races will play out in Ohio and North Carolina.

West Virginia and Indiana have become top battlegrounds in the fight for the Senate, which Republicans currently control. Meanwhile, House races in both Ohio and North Carolina will factor into whether Democrats can win enough seats to take control of the chamber.

The key question:
Does the candidate side with the citizens and the rule of law?
Electing Bush League Republicans gains US (US citizens) nothing.

Your point is well taken but in the House of Representatives even a Bush league Republican keeps the majority intact.

This is less concerning in the Senate but a Democrat majority in the House guarantees an impeachment for the President.

I like Blankenship. He is calm cool and collected. A steady hand for the people of West Virginia who are liquored up and pissed off about establishment republicrats like the other two. He can beat manchin easy . Manchin had a chance if he had voted with Trump but he blew it. But any time you see head lines like “ Republicans panic over Blankenship’s lead in polls” REJOICE!! those are people like that Gawd awful bitch McConnell and paul RINO. Go Blankenship!!!

Weekly Standard:

President Donald Trump, who overwhelmingly carried the state in 2016, weighed in on Twitter Monday morning: “To the great people of West Virginia we have, together, a really great chance to keep making a big difference. Problem is, Don Blankenship, currently running for Senate, can’t win the General Election in your State...No way! Remember Alabama. Vote Rep. Jenkins or A.G. Morrisey!”

Who do we want in the Indiana primary?

I'd go with Braun who has a business background over the other two who are lawyers and career politicians.

Braun has run a smear campaign - I have at least 3 pieces of hit mail a day from him. Some mail does not even mention Braun or his campaign, just hit pieces on the other two guys. I am voting for Rokita - a good guy from a middle class family in NW Indiana.

I'm getting that mail too. I tried to find who sent but it didn't have a name on it. I assume it was Braun because it was the same size and writing style of other mail I got from Braun. He sue id spending a lot of money.

I think Rokita is the only one that can beat Donnelly.

“who do we want in the Indiana primary?”

Good question, I’ve read that Donnelly is more conservative than either of the Republicans running.

Pointing out that his two opponents voted to give Obama authority for TPP isn't a smear, its a fact...ymmv.

“I’ve read that Donnelly is more conservative than either of the Republicans running.”

Well, you’ve read some junk then. There are three Republicans running for the U.S. Senate from Indiana, and all three are far more conservative than that liberal Democrat faux-conservative Joe Donnelly. Donnelly votes with the liberals every day and twice on Sunday, except for a handful of votes on which Chuck Schumer gives him permission to vote with the Republicans because his vote wouldn’t make a difference. And if Indianans are dumb enough to reelect him ... watch out! He’ll tack even harder left knowing that he won’t face the voters for another 6 years and that he already got away with a liberal voting record once before.

As for which Republican to support in the primary, none are perfect, but any of the three would be acceptable in the Senate. I would prefer the candidate with the best chance of beating Donnelly in the general, so, based on what I know about the candidates and of the Indiana electorate, I would rank them Messer #1, Rokita #2 and Braun #3.

In Ohio, vote for whoever isn’t DeWine for governor.
