Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said Monday “it's ridiculous" that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., reportedly does not want President Donald Trump to attend his funeral, and hopes the war hero has a change of heart.
"I think it's ridiculous," Hatch told Politico. "Well, he's the president of the United States and he's a very good man. But it's up to [McCain]. I think John should have his own wishes fulfilled with regard to who attends the funeral."
McCain’s closest family members reportedly informed the White House that the current plan is for the funeral to be held at Washington’s National Cathedral, and Vice President Mike Pence to attend – but not Trump, according to The New York Times.
McCain has been battling an aggressive form of brain cancer for more than a year.
Former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama have reportedly been asked to deliver eulogies at McCain's service.

Real, true conservatives would be saying they won’t attend if Trump isn’t invited. But then, maybe any real conservative won’t be invited anyway...

It’s really a riot that POTUS’s GW Bush & Barack Hussein Obama have been requested to give eulogies when Senator, John McCain passes away. The two weakest, failed USA Presidents rapping away on John McCain, the great USA traitor and turncoat. McCain may get glory from the mouths of these two losers...but he will not get much good will or blessings from the overwhelming numbers of the common, everyday, patriotic Americans.
The same hate, envy, jealousy that infects the mind and body of Senator, John McCain, is alive and well in the hearts and souls of both Bush & Obama. They have failed themselves and they have failed their own country.
Hopefully McCain will really ratchet up the hate as his big day approaches. Would like to see him buried with as much venom in his heart as humanly possible.
This is creepy as hell, someone planning their own funeral, invitations and all, like it’s some sort of party.
But it’s not without precedence. I’m certain Roman emperors and Egyptian Pharaohs had extravagant funerals planned. Considering he equals their greatness, this should be expected. /s/

What an arrogant POS. The fact he presumes 2 former Presidents to KHA and attend his contrived and pompous funeral is another insight into his hubris.
McCain, or the family, doesn’t want Trump ending up being gracious, which of course he would be in his remarks during the funeral.

McCain meets the requirements to be buried at Arlington a couple of times over - no matter what many think.
There are too many politicians with no connection to the military buried there.
Space is getting very limited and they are tightening up on just who can be buried there.
Only two from my family are buried there, both AF Ltc’s. The rest opted for family plots or regional state cemeteries. I’ll go to the state cemetery down the road a bit where my father-in-law is.
Pence needs to wash his hair that day or be otherwise occupied. Maybe send SecTreas who can declare the Keating 5 debacle is finally closed.
