He was hoping the allegations were true. And, if they were, it was the best way for him to get back at Trump and conservatives, and also a way to help the ones he loves the most, those being the liberals who adore him so much.
That the dossier turned out to be full of complete lies, does not matter to him. He's still hopeful that something, anything, will bring Trump down.
It's no wonder he doesn't want Trump at his funeral. You don't invite the person you hate the most to your funeral. Sarah Palin better not go to his funeral either. She would be betraying her fellow conservatives and their values.
