“The Iranian major general in charge of the Al-Quds Force in Syria, Qassem Soleimani, launched last night’s attack against Israel without the knowledge or the consent of the Assad regime.” He went on to say that the Syrian claim came, “Despite the fact that some Syrian military personnel took part in the aggression.”
It's adorable that anyone still purports to believe that there *is* a Syrian state. Thanks Zhang Fei.

Message to Assad. Doesn’t matter who you point the finger at it’s your responsibility no matter. You will realize the consequences if you do not address the issue.

Israel demands UN condemn Iran barrage as [Secretary-Genocidal] Guterres calls for calm | Times of Israel | 11 May 2018
The Israeli ambassador to the UN called on the Security Council and the secretary-general to immediately condemn Iran’s missile attack and demand that Tehran remove its military presence from Syria, as the head of the world body appealed for calm.

Danny Danon said in letters to the council and UN chief Antonio Guterres that "the international community must not stand idly by while a tyrannical regime attacks a sovereign nation and continues to threaten the very existence of a member-state of the United Nations." "Israel is not interested in escalation, but under no circumstances will we allow Iran to establish a military presence in Syria whose purpose is to attack Israel and to deteriorate an already fragile situation in the region," Danon said.

[Instead...]

Guterres appealed Thursday for an "immediate halt to all hostile acts" in the Middle East... Guterres also called on the Security Council to "remain actively seized of the matter and shoulder its responsibilities" under the UN Charter.

The Security Council, which is deeply divided over Syria, is highly unlikely to issue a statement and no council member has asked for a meeting on the missile exchange. When asked if they would call an emergency meeting, ambassadors from Poland, Russia, France and Britain all responded: "Not at this point."
Heh... then they went to the five star restaurant they usually use that day of the month. ;^)

Article: “One selling point of the desert outpost was its isolation. Surrounded by miles of sand, it was relatively easy to defend.”

The author left out an important qualifier - if you have air supremacy and continuous air cover. Which is another way of saying it’s impossible to defend. Where does WaPo find these simultaneously retarded and arrogant writers?

Greg Jaffe used to write for the Wall Street Journal. In that capacity, he once referred to an aircraft carrier as a battleship. He must be well-connected or great in one-on-one interviews, because he does say a lot of really off-the-wall things in his articles.

OSINT analysis on the Pantsir/SA 22 Grayhound attack:

I believe the most likely explanation is the crew stepped outside for a smoke (possibly after the “attempted firing” at an earlier strike), then realise there's more targets inbound. One of them tries to reach the truck to fire at the attacker, but he is way too late (and very alone) in his effort.

This tells a lot:

Russia diplomacy is the best of the world. What I don't understand, is why Israelis attacked Syria the night after V-Day celebrations in Moscow where Netanyahu was present. It gives the impression that Russia let Israel do that and it's not good for Russia image.

LOL!

Thanks. I suspect going forward a number of SAM crews are gonna run for the hills the next time they hear of incoming aircraft.

When push came to shove, neither Russia nor Syria stood with Iran.

Yep. And for me, that is the big takeaway here.
