About half of all Americans now live under sanctuary policies that shield illegal immigrants from law enforcement, according to the latest tally of jurisdictions that the Federation for American Immigration Reform is releasing Thursday.
FAIR calculates there were 564 states and municipalities that refuse some level of cooperation with federal immigration authorities as of April 1, up more than 200 since President Trump took office and up more than 500 compared with a decade ago. There were just 40 sanctuaries when President Obama took office.
Entire states such as California, Illinois and New York are now sanctuaries, as well as major cities and counties such as Fairfax, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties and the District of Columbia in the capital region, according to the list.

If liberal cities and states can ignore immigration and drug law by popular demand, conservative cities and states can follow the same example and ignore any new laws liberals pass.

I’d prefer to see hundreds of counties, and several states, follow the lead of 7 Illinois counties and declare themselves to be “gun rights sanctuaries.”
The sheriffs there have declared that they will not enforce either state OR federal laws that violate the 2nd Amendment. To my way of thinking, this would make anyone manufacturing and selling brand new full autos pretty much free and clear. If done on a state level, I’d love it even more if the governor would invite the BATFE to leave the state. THAT would let the immigration whores know the full meaning of a “sanctuary” city or state, and might even end this insanity.
What the article fails to say is the Communist in CA now have about a dozen cities and more coming on board, who want no part of their “Sanctuary city” for illegals bull s**t.
The middle class is already collapsing; it led to the election of Trump. They are being taxed to death providing freebies (especially public schooling) for “dreamers” and anchor babies while Americans have almost no children themselves. Soon the “sanctuary areas” will have no Americans left because of the negative birthrate of Americans combined with the flight from the costs of subsidizing the invaders. Employers flee, and their American workers follow.
NJ is a de facto “sanctuary state”; a third of the state would be ghost towns without the open borders (and more than HALF of the public schools - 75% of our massive property tax burden - would be closed).
Although many here will not accept the fact, Hillary won the popular vote.
