They have been doing this since 1963. Got worse after 1968. In the 1970s-80s there were so many anti-gun anti-hunting movies on TV I could not keep up with them.

Yep! It began with the JFK assassination & LBJ denouncing “mail order murder”, picked up major steam with the RFK and MLK assassinations in 1968 (all carried out by isolated nut jobs) with LBJ ramming through GCA ‘68 as a final up yours to gun owners and then the moviemakers took it from there.

Incidentally, look up Johnson’s remarks when he signed GCA ‘68 into law. He was extremely frustrated at Congress not making it more draconian, and very angry with the American public for not accepting stricter controls. It was only half a loaf for LBJ, who croaked four years later younger than I am now.

From 1968 to 1983 it was all about outlawing handguns. When Reagan lifted the embargo on milsurp & semiauto imports, the focus shifted to bad ‘ol “assault weapons”.

AWB ‘94 only banned new sales of MSR’s (the true name) and did nothing about those already in private hands. Now the masks are off and gungrabbers talk openly of ending private ownership of all firearms.

Thwarted by the logistical impossibility of Australian-style confiscation (gotta register ‘em first!) gungrabbers preach the dying off of OFWG boomers who own most guns, and reeducating a new generation of David Hogg millennials.

Just like the Soviets & Nazis did; “your children are the future and they belong to us, you old people”.

Google “America’s love affair with guns” & find some articles in the UK Guardian or Daily Mail. The comments are full of impotent namecalling of Yanks by superior Brits. Fun to read.
