They may have spotted something(A benign tumor or something like that) and removed it. A few years ago my cousin found out accidentally(He had zero symptoms) he had early stage kidney cancer..they removed the tumor and he’s been fine ever since. Whatever they found on Melania’s kidney Im glad they found it early and took care of it

You must be referring to the original and now closed Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Georgia Avenue in Washington, DC, as “...socialist rat-infested hell-hole....” It is/was ‘socialist’ as any other DoD hospital is.
The current Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is a combination of the old Bethesda Naval Medical Center and several new hospital buildings built on the Bethesda Navy facility. The original Naval Medical Center has been completely renovated. Both my wife and I have received excellent treatment there.
And as the dependent wife of the Commander in Chief of all US military forces, she is authorized treatment at Walter Reed NMMC, as is her husband.

Hey, I know people who work there. My hats off to them, trying to deal with the system.
It was only a few years ago that WR was called out for having unacceptable rat infestation. During Uhbama.
Many people say they get excellent care at any given VA (govt-bureaucracy) location, but many, many do not - especially when it comes to that “waiting” to be served thing that socialists are so good at.
