Unlike most of us who were born here....

Yes, and I heard Musk blows multi-colored, magical skittles from his a-hole. < / musk_fanboy>

Maybe Tesla can complete automobile orders or be profitable. Oh that's right, Tesla is a BATTERY company trying (and failing) to be a car company; one that sells coal powered toxic hazards that do 0-60 in 3 seconds ONE TIME on an airport runway, then overheat and start to lose power like a cell phone.

Without large infusions of government money and very stupid investors, Tesla would not exist.

Agree, people can invest private funds however they want. That’s capitalism! Further, I concur that Musk is an entrepreneurial risk taker, and I applaud him for this. While I hope his endeavors succeed, I do see dark clouds gathering over Tesla.

I guess what I object to is the fact that Mush has scooped up billions of taxpayer money, typically from liberal politicians, and then brayed about his achievements. Hand most reasonable people a few billion and my guess is they would have enough slack to invest in big, showman-type things too.

Moreover, while not counting you among them, there are so many Internet warriors who absolutely revere this guy as a demi-god, claiming that he is humanity’s last best hope — and that’s almost a direct quote.

I’ll be among the first to genuflect at the altar of Musk and say I was wrong, and maybe he does need just a bit more time and money, but from my small and humble perch, I remain a skeptic.

Hack a few Teslas so they crash, then buy up Tesla convertible bonds on the cheap.

That’s George “The Jewish Nazi” Soros for you.

Here’s hoping they both go bankrupt.

Without large infusions of government money ...

...

I bet if I asked you to be specific, you couldn’t do it. For instance, could you break apart loans, rebates that go to the customer, tax incentives, etc.

How does that money compare to other businesses of the same size and in the same businesses?

Why doesn’t anybody on FR complain about GM being bailed out?

Why doesn’t anybody on FR complain about GM being bailed out?

At the time it was happening, I was behind the idea of letting GM go bankrupt. Then they could get their act together, or not. Instead, the American public had their tax dollars used to bail out GM --- because they agreed to build the tiny car that BO wanted them to build.

I was against that, and I did make my feelings known on FR. I cannot speak for anyone else on FR; but, I don't think I was alone in my opinion to let GM go bankrupt.

I cannot remember one Freeper backing the GM bailout.

And GM's business model was not based on a lie whose remedy could only be found with government intervention. eg. the fossil fuels are evil, only windmill and solar panels allowed anti-American stance.

That is the climate Musk is for and that is the climate that would only allow his Tesla scam to succeed.

Don't worry though. The next DemocRat POTUS will implement Musk's anti-American legislation that will allow his scam to thrive.

I can’t either. But we no longer hear about it and haven’t for a long time. Yet we hear about Tesla every other day.

And how about the billions in subsidies that have gone to other car companies, some of them foreign? At least Tesla is an American company.

Because Tesla is a double whammy. Bailouts and fossil fuels restricted based on a lie(global warming).

I would hope you haven't fallen for AGW scam.

Can you please explain that sentence?

Doesn’t GM sell an electric car? And I do believe they receive more subsidies than Tesla, not counting the bailout. Ford also receives more subsidies than Tesla and sells an electric car.

And when I see reviews of Teslas, most of them are about performance and handling. I’ve never seen a mention of global warming. A few are into the hypermiling thing, but that’s more about competition.

How about no subsidies for any company, anywhere?

That would be good. We should blame the politicians that offer them rather than a particular company.

Yes, AN electric car. Not ONLY AN electric car.

If the government does not take an aggressive policy mode against fossil fuels, GM sells other vehicles . Tesla, no chance. Self evident. Common sense.

This is really simple stuff, very obvious. Tesla cannot survive unless the government issues legislation that favors the green industry, and punishes the fossil fuel industry. The gov. should not be picking winners and losers based on a lie(AGW).

Tesla might survive without subsides(doubtful), but it CANNOT survive with out the government favoring the the green industry and punishing the fossil fuel industry.

It seems to me you’re totally ignoring the performance aspects of Tesla cars. They are also status symbols.

Do you hate Tesla so much that you only acknowledge one side of the story?

Those bonds will be worthless like the Tesla stock will be when it finally falls.
