Socialist-backed candidates score primary victories across Pennsylvania

Four candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America won primary races Tuesday night for Pennsylvania’s legislature, sparking supporters to declare the movement is on the rise.

“What we did … tonight across the state is a HUGE deal,” the group’s Pittsburgh chapter tweeted. “The establishment's scared.”

All four winners were female candidates running as Democrats for state House seats, including two from the Pittsburgh area, Summer Lee and Sara Innamorato.

Lee and Innamorato defeated incumbent Democrats in the heavily Democratic districts southeast and north of Pittsburgh, respectively, and are running unopposed by Republicans in the November elections.

The democratic-socialist movement appears to have gained momentum in the country since Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders espoused its ideas in the 2016 presidential race, while officially running on the Democratic Party ticket.

The platform put forth by Sanders and others touts free health care and higher-education for all and, more recently, a job for every American.

Naw, these are freedom-loving people who are after a representative government - you know, like the Democratic Republic of Korea, or the Democratic Republic of Congo? They're sort of fond of executions, too.

I hope they like taxes. Any people in Pennsylvania want to make money on bets start reading the Seattle Times.

Ban plastic, except of course for the holy water bottle. CHECK

Get rid of one lane on a crowded road and build bike lanes. CHECK

Begin building a light rail system that costs $Billions$ and run two or three miles. CHECK

Allow the homeless to camp anywhere as long as it is not near elected officials houses. CHECK

Free needles and syringes. CHECK

A special tax to build houses for homeless. CHECK

Raise property taxes to $8-$10K per year. CHECK

Tax ammunition sales at a special rate. CHECK

Soda tax. CHECK

Buy bicycles for a “free bike” program. CHECK

Elect open socialists who organize rallies spouting hatred for America. CHECK . . . . OH right, they seem to be here already.

Not a Pennsy problem, it’s a democrat problem. And it’s all over the US, Pennsy just has more of ‘em. Concentrated in the Philly, Pitt, and Scranton areas!
Disgusting!!

One of the problems is that Pennsylvania has just TOO many state legislators.

Too many districts mean the districts are small.
If your district is a 2x3 mile area in the Mon Valley that looks like London after the Blitz, it’s probably not hard to get elected there as a Socialist.

PA used to be on our short list of states to move to after we escape from NY. But we crossed off PA a while back. Sigh.

These socialist candidates were all running in hard left districts that the Republicans don’t challenge in

The Republicans should really push that in the General Election.

It wasn’t just Pennsylvania. The Rat primary voters went full retard and selected a commie bernie bot for Nebraska’s Second Congressional District who is campaigning on single-payer healthcare and repealing the 2nd Amendment. Essentially, they threw their chance at that seat away.
